I agree with many of the comments that previous guests have made. The wine and cheese hour is very nice. The manager - Barty and owner Connie are very warm and gracious. The breakfast is also very good. The location of this inn is also very convenient as it is a short 1 block walk to State street where there are many shops and restaurants.

However dispite all the positives I feel that the Cheshire Cat is somewhat overpriced. When we were planning our trip this was our splurge as far as accomodation is concerned. This is not our first stay at a bed and breakfast so we do have other places to compare Cheshire Cat to. We stayed in the Dormouse room and it is rediculously small. There was not much room for luggage and it was very cramped. There is no room to move around in this room at all. It also faces one of the main streets so during the day and early evening the traffic noise is horrendous. I think my husband would have rather booked at The Marriott. They were offering an oceanview room for the same price at the time we were travelling.

We stay for two nights at Caterpillar room which has two window seats and a deck. The window seats give us extra sitting choices to enjoy the room. The room is nicely decorated and very comfortable. The deck allows us to enjoy the sun and to overlook the beautiful English garden. The business center has a computer and a printer which we can print the map and direction - a nice service. Breakfast is quite good with different varieties each day. It's a great stay.

My daughter and I come to Santa Barbara frequently and when we stay overnight, it is always at the Cheshire Cat Inn. Everyone is so nice here, there is a fabulous wine/cheese hour at 5pm every night and a delicious breakfast every morning! And it is within walking distance to the Museum and State Street shops : ) Love it!

We love this place! We've stayed six nights in the last 2 months. The place is very comfortable, elegant accommodations, staff is friendly & attentive, very nice breakfast with good variety, fresh fruit and munchies always available and delightful wine and snacks each afternoon. Many guests are repeat customers. The setting is beautiful and it all makes for a very relaxing stay. This is a wonderful B&B!
