“Nothing Not to Love!”

I love this hotel. This is the 3rd time i have stayed here in the past 3 years and every time i leave thinking "i wish i could come back more often." It is everything you want when you are staying at a nice hotel- professional service, immaculate grounds, clean, well appointed rooms with every amenity you could ask for. I don't know if all of the room have these features but every time i have stayed here there has been a fire place and a big bath tub in my room. And the beds are so comfortable that i actually called to see if i could buy one of the mattresses (you can- the concierge was very helpful and knowledgeable about this- i guess i am not the only one)I love the pool- relaxing, quiet- feels like a real retreat AND the beach club across the street with a new, Olympic size swimming pool, a restaurant and beach access is pretty phenomenal.

Clean, well appointed gym looking out to the ocean AND there is another gym at the beach club across the street. I didn't get spa appointments this time but i have had in the past and been happy.

Just a few nice things about this last stay in particular:
- Room upgrade when we arrived
- filled special requests like need for a steamer (for clothes), shaving cream etc very quickly
- people in the restaurant and room service didn't even bat an eye when I asked if i could order something not on the menu. They were game and brought be exactly what i wanted.

Yes- these are all services i expect when i am staying at a nice hotel, especially a four seasons and if i didn't get these things i would complain, however, i still appreciate when it is there as it should be! That, combined with the fact the hotel is really unique and beautiful (feel like an old Mediterranean mansion with colored tiles in the lobby and bathrooms) make it one of my favorite places.

And don't miss the Sunday Brunch. it is pretty spectacular. I have even seen Oprah indulging and if it is good enough for her...!

Room Tip: I prefer NOT To stay in a room over looking the pool just because i don't like any noise, but ot...

“Great Weekend”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

We stayed here a night while our kitchen was being remodeled. 2 adults and 2 kids in one of the cottages. The staff were beyond polite, courteous and wonderful to not only us, but our children. I just wished the stay was longer. Be warned that the trains do go by early, but it just means that you get to see a great sunrise over the Pacific.

“What a luxury resort should be!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

Love, love, love this hotel! The minute you arrive beauty surrounds you. The beautiful grounds and the charming rooms and cottages gives you instant relaxation. The staff are very friendly and helpful. It amazes me that this beautiful hotel is also pet friendly and the accommodations that are ready in the room for your pet is such a delight to see. I only get to stay here because of the annual conference that I attend but it is known in the office that I will wrestle anyone that tries to take my spot at this conference at the Biltmore!

“Beautiful all around.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

This hotel is really, really great. The atmosphere inside and outside of this hotel is 5 star. If I could give them a 6th star for service I would. The rooms are charming and not overdone. Just classy all around. The beach is right across the street. Use of the famous Coral Casino clubhouse pool and dining facility was a pleasant perk too (it sits right on the water and the views are indescribable looking out to the Channel Islands) The only criticism is that the food needs to be upgraded, especially for the price, but for a Four Seasons it was not up to par. But there are plenty of good places to eat in Monticeto and Santa Barbara. We will be back for sure!

“Heaven on Earth”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

Okay, so I may be a little biased towards the hotel as my fiancee asked me to marry him here, but in all honestly it is an amazing gem!

We stayed here in May of 2011 for a four day trip to Santa Barbara after spending three days in San Francisco. From the moment we arrived, I knew it was going to be a special trip.

The hotel itself is beautiful, very class 'Old Santa Barbara.' The decor was so neat and it was just breathtaking. The hotel has rooms in the 'main part' but also have individual guest cottages. We were upgraded to one of these. I later found out it was because my boyfriend at the time had written the hotel, telling them he was planning on asking me to marry him. The Biltmore went above and beyond with upgrading us to the cottage but then also letting him know that any thing he wanted to make the proposal extra special, they would certainly assist. In the end, he did not add any of those bells & whistles, which is exactly how I preferred it.

The restaurants within the hotel were delicious - well made drinks and good food. Yes, it is expensive but it is a Four Seasons. We ate at the main restaurant overlooking the water one night and they had 50% off all bottles of wine which was nice.

The pool on the grounds is small but the set up is quite nice. We were there during the week, so it was not as crowded as a weekend may have been.

The spa was wonderful. I had a manicure by a lovely technician. The relaxation room and other parts of the spa were on the smaller side but it was still very relaxing.

Another plus of this hotel is access to the Coral Casino Beach Club which is literally across the street. This presents another pool option as well as additional dining choices. We hung out here one day and it was fun.

I would highly recommend anyone to stay here. It was a magical trip - for many reasons but the Four Seasons service is on par here. I can't wait to go back and celebrate our anniversary some day :)
