We stayed here for one night to visit our daughter, who recommended this place, and rightly so. For Santa Barbara, it's a very good value ($99 on a Saturday night). That's on a par with some well-known budget motels, but with far more character. Our room had a cute "headboard" design on the wall, done entirely with stickers. What we first thought was wallpaper also turned out to be stickers - must have been a lot of work. I think we had an accessible room, as it had a large walk-in shower. The room had very little furniture, just comfy bed and desk/chairs by the window, which made it feel a little stark, but would work great for accessibility. Just a couple of minor negatives - the louvered windows did not close entirely, so let in some noise and cold air. Maybe a way to weatherstrip? And when we first arrived, the smell of cleaners or bleach was extremely strong, so much so that we had to leave the windows open for awhile. Good coffee in the morning and friendly staff made up for any minor shortcomings. We appreciate the owners' efforts to create this unique place and to hold prices down.
