“Good Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2012

We had a nice stay here. Awesome breakfast. Clean restrooms and very comfortable beds. Although we ended up having our room with a view of some sort small electrical plant and its parking lot. There were other nicer views available, we just didn't realize it until we got there. Wifi is not fast, but not super slow either. Staff was very friendly and even called us to make sure if everything was fine.

Room Tip: Make sure you ask for a room facing the pool area. Its closer to the breakfast area. Or avoid the No...

“Some really good, a bit not so good”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2012

This is an older hotel near SNA airport. I received a very reasonable rate for the hotel, which looks nice from the outside. Similarly, the lobby is nicely kept up. Once you head toward the rooms, however, it drops in appearance a bit. The outside walkways are a little bit dirty, the hot tub which I used once wasn't real clean, and the walls look like they could use a coat of paint.

The room was a nice surprise. Although the TV was an older CRT model, most of the room was spacious and clean, with remodeled bathroom with granite. The carpet appeared new, and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. The lights were actually incandescents, and they housekeeping staff didn't turn off the heater every day like another hotel I recently stayed in.

There was free internet, a pretty decent free breakfast (but not enough indoor seating, so I took it back to my room. Unfortunately there was no fitness facility and the lady at the front desk indicated that their contract was being changed to another provider. I'm guessing they will make a local gym available rather than having one on-premises - once the "contract" is negotiated.

On the service front, the hotel was excellent. Friendly, efficient, and helpful girl at the front desk helped me check in. As other reviews indicated, she also called my room about 15 minutes later to make sure the room was ok.

In summary, the hotel is decent but not excellent, but the room was good and clean, and the service of the hotel was a cut above for this class of hotel. They are obviously trying to do everything right, but the facility is older and it is somewhat noticeable around the building outsides and the walkways.

“A Very Relaxing Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 January 2012

This was one of the most comfortable hotel stays I had in many years. When I first checked in and walked to my room, the reservation assistant called my room within 10 minutes to see if everything was OK. I was very impressed as most hotel chains never do this.
The bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept in. Real cozy and relaxing.
At breakfast, I noticed the general manager was greeting the guests, personally and making sure that everything was running smoothly, and the guests were taken care of. The second night, I had a problem with my TV remote and took it to the front office for some possible new batteries. The reservation assistant called the night assistant and as I was walking back to my room, I noticed the assistant was running down stairs to give me the remote. Great Service in all areas.
I only made reservations for two nights, but stayed and extra night as I was so relaxed that I wanted that extra night to enjoy more of my stay. I will definitely be returning.

Room Tip: I believe rooms on the east side are quieter.

“Nice hotel; be sure to check on Shuttle Service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 November 2011

people found this review helpful

The hotel listing says "complimentary airport shuttle service." We had a flight that left really early in the morning so we called to hotel before we made the reservation to see if they would take us early to the airport. They said no problem, so we made the reservation specifically for that hotel for the shuttle service. When we arrived, they said the shuttle does not run that early, and they couldn't accomodate us. We had to take a taxi.

Other than the shuttle service problem, the hotel was nice, within walking distance of restaurants.

“Nice hotel, great breakfast”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 October 2011

We stayed here for 5 nights in October 2011. Room price was good, room was clean, breakfast good, pleasant place, we'll definitely return when we come back to the Irvine CA area.

THE GOOD

* Room is a nice suite, king size bed, 4 pillows and a throw. Couch is a sleeper, but we didn't need it. There's a table for your laptop work. Two TVs (both tube), a couple of phones, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker. They keep the place clean.
* If you put the "do not disturb" up, they will avoid the room completely (but that's what you wanted, isn't it?) which means, if the room need repair (clogged toilet) it won't happen if the do-not-disturb is put on the door.
* Breakfast is really good. Cooked to order eggs (real or eggbeaters, your choice; omelets are good), hash browns, pancakes, toast, sausage patties. Also they have cold cereal(fruit loops, corn flakes, raisin bran), yogurt, fruit (apples, bananas). Several kinds of coffee including decaf, juices, milk.
* There's a computer and printer in the lobby, free use and free printing. Great if you have some coupons (like for Souplantation, our favorite salad bar all-you-can-eat restaurant in the area!) or directions you need printed.

THE BAD

* Toilet did clog once after use. (But they fixed it fast -- see note about do-not-disturb sign above).
* Although breakfast is good, because it's cooked to order, if you come at the wrong time you'll have a wait to place your order, behind others. Coupons are required to place your cooked order; if you happen to want 2 orders, you have to have two coupons. (I didn't try "I want 2 omelets on the same plate" but if you do, let us know if it works.)
* Parking spaces are small. Not much space between cars -- so if you have a large truck, you'll need maybe 2 spaces (but this is the case throughout most of CA from what I've seen).
* Our room faced the highway about 1/2 mile away and because the window didn't seal, there was some road noise in the room. The curtains did block some of this, but not all. Also, the hotel is about 1/2 mile away from the approach for the airport, so the noise from them is definitely noticeable; this might be a plus for kids to see the airplanes so close.

THE UGLY

Well, nothing I can think of. Maybe the woman in room 381, I think it was a woman; but don't tell her we said that. We liked this place, and recommend it to others.
