Bedbugs, Filthy, Bed bugs, Dirty, Bedbugs, Unclean, Bed bugs. A third world experience.
A 60$ nightly rate in San Rafael, Marin County, CA, is an undeniably excellent rate for a single, NONSMOKER motel rate in the SF Bay Area or specifically, my beloved Marin County.
However, the motel staff, while minimally helpful, was "filling in" while the owner/manager was on holiday in India. Yes, yet another (East) Indian owned motel bringing third world sensibilities and filth to the first world U.S. traveler at a sucker nightly rate.
The rooms were filthy. I paid cash for four nights. I stayed in two rooms as the first was nasty and the second was as nasty and both had bedbugs. I used the "Rest Easy (Kills and Repels Bed Bugs)" (from Bed, Bath, and Beyond) to little effect. When the guests in both adjacent rooms vacated, the bed bugs (bedbugs) arrived en mass. The bathroom shower was nasty - grout black with mould and mildew. The carpets were so bad in both rooms barefeet get black in a few steps. How hard can it be to clean the carpets on occasion. The walls all had stains, bits of dried biocrap in the rooms and bathrooms. And it smelled abhorrent; foul.
The Colonial Inn is in San Rafael, Marin County, California. Marin County is the California's wealthiest county (more so than Orange County in SoCally). This Indian-owned filth is the limit and I'm contacting the San Rafael and/or Marin Cojnty Health Dept. to report this.
Room Tip: The few rooms I saw were equally nasty.
