A very bad example of a super 8 motel! ...and I wonder who wrote the good reviews? the manager himself?
About 50% of the rooms were former smoking rooms...and they smell terribly! There is even a sign in the room that "the room has been cleaned to remove tobacco odor", which was obviously not efficient at all. After a long discussion with the very unfriendly staff, we changed the room for the remaining 2 nights (3 in total). Additionally, the rooms are not clean: if you walk barefoot, your feet are becoming black!
Even the "internet in every room" is a joke! Wifi works only in the "lobby" and even there very slowly.
In SUMMARY: DON'T GO THERE, it's disgusting and a very bad experience!

I stayed at the Super 8 San Mateo where all the rooms are smoke free. The rooms have been renovated with new furniture. I like that they have 4 pillows per bed. They have a great breakfast. The staff is very friendly. The rates are best in the San Francisco area.

If you plan to spend a night near SFO between flights, go to the Super 8. Its on El Camino Real and just 10 min to SFO by Taxi.

The rooms are clean and large. The hotel staff are polite and friendly. I liked the large bed in the room which was something I didnt expect in a hotel of this size.

There is a mexican restaurant adjacent to the motel that serves some good food. The tortillas and salsa are pretty good.

The motel served only basic breakfast so dont expect a full spread.

I'd give it a thumbs-up for price, cleaniness and room size.

It was prom weekend and my boyfriend was flying in for it. We wanted to save Money and spent hours looking for the right hotel for us. When discovering super 8 I was instantly relieved to see how incredibly low the price was! When we got to the hotel room we were both in shock of how clean and fancy it was. Not only that but my boyfriend was very pleased on how friendly the staff, not to mention, the owner was to us. Especially being my first time booking a room by myself I highly recommend this place. I had low expectations before but it changed dramatically. I can't wait to go back there!
