“Convenient to San Francisco and Breakfast Included”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2012

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights this fall. It was easy to find by googling (despite some earlier comments) and only about 40 minutes from downtown San Francisco activities. It was great to find somewhere close to San Francisco and reasonably priced. Our room was on the fourth floor and was clean, neat and updated. Each room comes with a safe in it and only the manager knows the combination. Although we didn't use the hot tub or exercise facilities, they were fairly small and basic.

The morning continental breakfast buffet was more complete than many in this price range; the only recommendation is that they splurge on a second wafflemaker. There is quite a wait in line on the weekend to make a waffle. However, as they saw how popular the waffles were, they kept bringing out more cups of batter for guests (even when the buffet was to close in 10 minutes).

I would recommend this as a nice, clean and safe place to stay for people visiting the San Francisco area. Note: There is not a restaurant on site or within easy walking distance. However, downtown San Mateo is not far away and has many dining options. Pizza places also deliver to the hotel.

“Clean, Comfortable and Convenient”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

This hotel was perfect for the three star hotel class it is in ( actually superseded that in many ways ) and I found it to be as good as any of the San Francisco airport hotels I have stayed in, over the years.

I decided to get out of the house in the Central Valley and chose this hotel to get a respite from the daily grind of life and enjoy some hiking in the peninsula area , as well as do an afternoon down in Half Moon Bay. MIssion accomplished.

The place was noticeably clean and very, very well-maintained. There were workers all over the place sprucing up the property , maids cleaning up the rooms and all of them were friendly. The lobby and breakfast area was cheery and bright. The gym was adequate for fitness needs. There was a whirlpool bath adjacent to the first floor elevators and it appeared to work well. The breakfast itself offered a variety of things and served its purpose well. The workers were always replenishing the breakfast items and didn't make you wait. I was at the hotel 4 nights and each morning I put something in the tip bucket for the girls who worked the buffet. I didn't see alot of others doing this and was disappointed , because they did an excellent job.

The hallways and common areas were nice-looking and the carpeting was newish and attractive in the corridor hallways leading to the room. The whole place just had a nice feel to it, from the time you stepped inside to the time you left the premises.

The room itself was more of a studio , had a sitting area with couch and coffee table and had a good fridge and microwave with coffee and tea service available. There was a large desk and chair across from the sitting area and was in very nice condition. Perfect for a business traveller. This was all separate from the actual bedroom area , which contained an entertainment center with TV, chair and large bed.

The bed was extremely comfortable and exuded freshness in the linens utilized. No worries about cleanliness here , as it appeared the bed and mattress were new. There were plenty of lighting options throughout the studio setup to reflect the proper ambience you might want. Wireless internet was free and was much faster than your average hotel's internet speed.

Great shower and tub , as good as many 5 star places. Clean ceramic tile floors and a spacious vanity area with plenty of amenities. Solid infrastructure throughout.

I'm pretty picky about hotels and I was quite happy here, no complaints at all. Frankly, this is how a hotel should be run and I believe this is an independently operated franchise. Whoever is running this particular franchise should be highly commended and they will have my return business, I assure you. They are an example of what I seek in a hotel and I'm glad I discovered this place.

I give the place 5 stars for overall property rating, because it exceeds a 3 star hotel rating classification in terms of the extra mile they seem to go , in the assurance of comfort and cleanliness, and in staff excellence and customer service.

Also , BTW, it is convenient to SFO and to 101 North and South for access to all points Bay Area.

I strongly recommend this property and do not think you will be disappointed in any way. Just to emphasize again, really nice people working throughout the hotel. And a very inviting atmosphere from A to Z.

“Good stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 January 2012

Stayed for 2 nights visiting friends. There isn't much in the immediate neighborhood, but the hotel was new and in good shape. Free wi fi, breakfast, parking, airport shuttle and fitness room.

“Very convenient SFO location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 December 2011 via mobile

This is one of the few hotels I've stayed at that the non-smoking room actually smelled like no one has ever smoked in it. My room was a good size and included a mini refrigerator and microwave. There isn't a lot of restaurants close by, so I just ordered something in from one of the menus in the lobby - it worked out fine. The front desk personnel were extremely friendly and welcoming, which is nice when you're tired. Definitely a good hotel for the night before a flight. They have an airport shuttle too.

“Best service ever”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 December 2011

We checked into Coyote Point Best Western a day late (our mistake). THe staff said that they would help with our mistake and they removed the "no show charge." I told them that I had to drop off a rental car at SFO (Enterprise) and they suggested we call them for a pick up. They found the number for us. We then asked directions to Coyote Point state park - we got clear advice on how to walk there. Our room was clean and quiet. Wireless was free. Shuttle to the airport was convenient. Rooms has microwave and refrigerator. We had a great stay!
