Good , clean , efficent service , lacks any pretence of luxury , get up in the morning and get coffee and a bite to eat in the breakfast area , not a bad way to go when you are tired after a long drive .

I held a business meeting at the Holiday Inn Express in San Luis Obispo, California. The sales lady Sandy was great. She helped me to reserve a block of rooms and a conference room. The conference room was set up way ahead of time, and just the way we requested. The rooms were clean, spacious, with two sinks, and granite countertops. What more could you ask for? They offer a free hot breakfast to top it off. Great stay......they will continue to get my business.

First of all - the service at this hotel is equal to that of a five star hotel - NO KIDDING! Every person I encountered at the hotel from check-in to check-out after four days was fabulous! They did everything they could to make our stay comfortable. They printed a map for us to where we were going when simply asked approximately how far the location was, to getting us glasses, providing good dining recomendations and simply being super friendly.

The beds were comfortable, the rooms were decent size and the bathroom was adequate. Ok, I'm more of a upscale or boutique hotel girl myself and rarely book a hotel that doesn't have a bar in it, but that being said, it was wonderful.

Great value for the money.

The only con for me was that they repainted the hotel and cabinets didn't own, we had "attached" rooms and the door between was very difficult to open because of the new paint.

You can easily walk to many restaurants from this location.

How can one possibly review Holiday Inns or any other hotels in this category, when they all follow a formula, and barring any exceptions are true to that formula. This was yet another typical Holiday Inn. The location is central on a street that has many other similar hotels, but no restaurants or shopping or anything. But within a 5 minute car drive is the main downtown with many restaurants, shopping etc. Try the BIg Sky Cafe for all your meals.

As a Platinum member I was upgraded to a suite that was very spacious but a bathroom that was most likely picked up from one of the standard rooms, really tiny! However, there was just one heater for such a large suite, and I had to crank it all the way up to 80 degrees to keep the room warm. There were 2 large LCD TVs and the internet was a breeze. As always, one should avoid the breakfast at these hotels, since they are nothing but mass produced, industrial quality, inedible globs that pass off for food.
