“Convenient Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

My husband and I stayed at the La Cuesta Inn for the weekend while attending some concerts in San Luis Obispo. Great location - very convenient on and off the freeway and okay to get to downtown. The Inn was quiet, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was fine for a short stay and had some non-sugary options. The room was fine except for the extremely hard pillows. They have movie DVDs for guests to borrow and that was great although there was a large selection of TV channels.

“Really good short stay option in great little town”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

Whilst the decor is a bit tired and the hotel in general need of a bit of a refurb, this wasn't a probem for our one night stay here. The staff were extremely polite, the room we had was very big for the price we payed with a great balcony. Noise is not a problem at all despite being so close to the highway and its only a 1o minute walk to get to the main part of town. Another big bonus was the buffett breakfast and in particular the waffle machine which was great. The town itself is also worth a mention, although this was just a stop over on our Journey up Pacific Coast Highway we wish that we had stayed for a couple of nights to explore some more. There are some great pubs and restaurants and the whole town has a really nice layed back feel to it. Only downside for us was the apparent town wide smoking ban which made us feel like criminals when having a sneaky cigarette, but realise that this is the way things are going and for the majority of people this will be seen as plus point rather than a problem.

Room Tip: Get one at the front with a Balcony if you can to look across the hills

“Very comfortable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

Very comfortable room and quiet. It was midweek so they were not very busy. Easy walk to downtown SLO and easy access to freeway. Well kept grounds and very clean. Nice breakfast options. Great deal for the price. We would stay again anytime.

“Loved this place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 January 2012

I stayed here 3 nights and had a great experience. It was midweek, so I got a 3rd night free, which was the only reason I stayed here. Everything was perfect....the soothing paint color in the room, the bed and bedding, the bathroom layout, the food, the staff, and it was quiet. It was cold out, so I didn't use the pool. The view was nothing great, but I was gone most of the day.
I've stayed in a few other hotels in SLO, but this is the one I would go back to.

“Clean, and a very good deal”

My wife and I stayed at La Cuesta Inn during a short visit to San Luis Obispo and surrounding area. It was our first visit to the area, and we wanted something practical and affordable. The hotel is decently maintained and the staff is friendly and helpful. Complimentary breakfast was good for a couple of days. The mid-week special was a very good deal: we splurged (!) for a king room with balcony, and enjoyed it. The hotel is easy to find, located near the highway; it is less convenient for walking to downtown San Luis Obispo.
