This is a late review, having stayed here in April 2011 but it was a nice place. We stayed in a creekside room, back of the property, patio, creekside but no creek view(just squirrels and horses on the hillside). Ceiling fan, no A/C but we were ok without it. Refrigerator in room, plenty of hot water in the combo tub/shower, loveseat, small table, decent room for the two of us. Older style layout with bathroom in front and parking just to the front of your room. Creekside rooms are updated. Free breakfast with your stay which was decent. Knowledgeable and friendly staff in front. They let us have our room 2 hours before check in which was nice. This place is the opposite end of downtown but the trolley stops directly in front on a regular schedule. Walking is exactly 1 mile slightly downhill. I'd say walk downtown and ride the trolley back especially if you bought a bunch of wine or goodies at the farmer's market. The apple farm restaurant is right next door so you have a full service place right here also. No pool, but a nice porch, swings to relax on. Wineries were an easy 30 minute drive depending on your preference and the 101 was easily accessible. If you want no frills, a decent price(under 100 a night), and friendly service then the Peach Tree is worth it.

We just spent the weekend at this charming hotel in the coastal city of San Luis Obispo. Our room was clean, stylish, with an updated bathroom including large glass floor-to-ceiling shower. We enjoyed the touch of French Country ambiance. The property descends down from a main street toward a creek, so there is no noise from street and nearby freeway. The management is always friendly (a return visit for us) and most accommodating. A large country style kitchen is cheerful in the morning with the sun pouring in through glass doors. There is a free expanded continental breakfast....all you need to get the day started. The Peach Tree is our home away from home when visiting our son, a student at nearby CalPoly University.

My wife and I have stayed at the Peach Tree many times over the past years and we always find it to be about the best place to stay in San Luis Obispo. The management is top notch and they have a great breakfast.

We stayed three nights at the Peach Tree Inn just before Christmas. From the street, this motel looks like an average place to stay to save money over the expensive hotels in the area. There are actually three levels to the motel--the area seen from the street right around reception, around back a second level of rooms quieter but not far from reception, and the creek area still farther down and near the creek that runs behind. The most spacious rooms with individual porches attached are down here. We had a smaller room also in this area but with no views. Even though it was compact, our King room was well organized and had a huge, wonderful shower. The rooms are equipped with large screen TVs and very comfortable beds. They have DVDs that one can borrow if there is nothing on TV. The management is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is bountiful, including hot oatmeal. Snacks and refreshments are available in the breakfast room all day. It is a great room in which to read and nibble. The motel is located very close to a freeway onramp which makes travelling the area very easy. We drove out to Morro Bay and up the coast. We drove up to the wine country in Paso Robles. We drove down into the local wine country. San Luis Obispo is very well located. The restaurants are very good in the city, and a lovely mission is located in town on the creek. I highly recommend the Peach Tree Inn.
