As a regular Staybridge customer I look forward to arriving at my hotel room no matter what city I am in. But, my stay at the San Jose location would best be described as a Disaster. Here are just a few reasons:
1. Maintenance was in my room 3 times within the first 48 hours of my stay
2. AC/Heat did not work properly the first day and the last day. After "fixing it" the last day it didnt work properly again. Windows that should open were bolted shut so the room stayed stuffy.
3. Toilet didn't flush properly on the first and last day and would leave waste in the bowl.
4. Dryer left ALL of my whites with with oil stains
5. Burns on 2 counter tops from hot pots. This is a common theme at locations where software companies import software developers from India....
6. AC air filter was so dirty it caused the AC coils to freeze up and then drip drip drip... Chinese water torture when it thawed out...
7. I was up at 3:00 am to work on the first morning only to find the entire propery's internet was out.

This just names a few. The properties on both East and West coasts are tired and worn. The company has not properly invested into the properties during the last economic downturn and it really shows. Management seems to have limited ability to rectify the problems. I am sorry to say that next time I travel to San Jose I will have to find another place to stay.

I stayed their for more then 2 months, but never got any feeling that i am staying away from my hown. Always i think i am staying in a Home. This is not a Hotel, but a place where you can spent good time, they have pool. Their breakfast is really good.......

I only stay there because they offer smoking rooms. Tonight I showed up after driving for an hour to get there and they had given away my room and dumped me in a nonsmoking moldy hotel. I am shocked and appalled that this is how they would treat a confirmed reservation.

Stayed here for a week on business.

The suites have two bedrooms with a central common area. Kitchen has a range, full size refrigerator/freezer and kitchen sink, couch/chair and TV.

Each bedroom has a full or queen size bed, full bathroom, desk, closet, a few drawers and TV. If your sharing the suite, each person can have complete privacy.

The facility is several years old. The rooms are not modernized. The room had previously been smoked in. Furniture could use updating, kitchen counter has burns on it from hot pans being set on it. The TVs were older tube TVs with picture tubes that were nearing end of service. Couldn't read the score of the World Series game that was on the TV, to small and blurry.

The breakfast was ok. I don't have any issue with that. Better than most.

The motel is not located in an "industrial area' just off the 101 freeway. All the surrounding buildings were some sort of business. There were no restaurants or grocery stores in the immediate area. It's a journey to get to a reasonably good restaurant. It was very easy to get on 101 north and the 880 freeway from the hotel. The SJC airport is accessible in less than 5 minutes by surface streets. Airport noise was not an issue at the motel.

Bottom line, it's not the worst place to stay, but I wouldn't return if I had the choice.
