If I have a choice, I usually would not stay at a Radisson. Over the years, this chain has not changed/improved much while many other chains have gone through renovations. Many properties in this chain seem to have a don't care attitude and it shows, definitely during this 2 night stay here. Several things went wrong:
1. Shower faucet was leaking the night I checked in. Called the front desk and was told too late to get maintenance done. So my options were to move to another room or wait till the morning. Fine, I will wait. Then front desk said I should call front desk in the morning and the morning shift will get the maintenance. At any other similar chain, they would have offered to get the maintenance without me making a second call.
2. Hair in bed. When I complained to front desk, I was told they do a nice job keeping the place clean. No apology and it was almost as if they didn't believe me.
3. The white towels and shower mat are so old and unclean looking that they are in a greyish color than pure white. I am sure they have not been replaced for quite a while. The rest of the place shows its wear and tear and lack of maitenance. The only place appear relatively decent of the hotel is the front lobby.
4. The room did not dial outside. I talked to the operator and the front desk 4-5 times in one day and every time I was told they fixed it. They eventually sent the maintenance guy up to fix it. The guy did something to the phone and it still did not work. I was able to stop him before he left the room. He went back to finally fix the phone. By then, I missed a good half of an important conference call.
5. When I checked out, the front desk never asked me how was the stay, never said thank you for staying and never expressed any apologies for all the problems.
Oh, by the way, the place is in the part of the airport area that feels kind of industrial and not safe. Perhaps not the hotel's fault.
Bottom line, unless you can't find any place to stay in San Jose, don't stay here. One of my worse stays at any hotels.
