Our room at the Courtyard Marriott at San Jose (California) airport was among the worst hotel experiences in 40 years of extensive travel for business and pleasure. It was like a cheap, rundown youth hostel in Europe. The room had a pungent and strong smell of urine. The sofa was too filthy to sit on and smelled like poor hygiene. The cheap foam rubber platform bed was soft and lumpy. Even though the sheets were clean, the mattress cover smelled of sweat and body odors. it was disgusting. The pillows were hard and small. There is no WiFi in rooms, only a LAN connection. So iPad, iPhone, and many MacBook users are out of luck. I used a portable WiFi router but the speed from Marriott's Internet provider, Ibahn, was only about 200k. I think it's pretty astonishing that Marriott has such a rundown and dirty property in the center of Silicon Valley.

Thank you for posting this review and sharing what appears to have been a horrible experience at our hotel. I appologize if our hotel did not meet your expecations.
On a positive note, our entire room and lobby will be undergoing renovations at the end of this month. In addition we will be getting our HSIA upgraded to suit all our travelers needs and expectations.
My hope is if your travels bring you back to San Jose, you will give us another opportunity and that we may show you the service and product that Marriott strives to provide. Thank you, Mary Salse-General Manager.
