“Renovations are underway...Ask Questions When Booking!”

I had stayed here a year ago, and had a spectacular room. Renovations were underway this time, unknown to me, or to Hotwire, whom I had booked through. I was put in a different wing while the nicer wing I stayed in last year was being renovated. Nice and clean, but it was more like a cheaper motel than the La Quinta room I was in last year, which was like a nice hotel.
Service was excellent, friendly staff, safe parking. Room was very small. Bathroom was micro.
All and all, for La Quinta, it was sub-par. But compared to other rooms in the area at the same price, it was still a bargain. And free airport transfers. La Qiunta San Jose will be an outstanding property when finished....but ask questions BEFORE booking, as renovations can bring surprises!

Room Tip: Phone the hotel DIRECTLY before booking, to find a room not affected by renovation. Ask for the lar...

I would first like to thank you for taking the time to do a thorough review of your most recent stay with us here in San Jose, California. Your input and review are very valuable. I would like to apologize for information regarding the renovation not reaching you prior to your stay. We understand that for some guests it is a major concern when a hotel is going through a renovation and we are sorry the information was not clearly delivered to you.

As you mentioned, the hotel will be an outstanding property when finished and we can't wait to share it with guests such as yourself. From the time we took over the property approximately 6 months ago, we have had extremely high expectations for this hotel. We are working hard each day to give this hotel the proper face lift it deserves. With the completely remodeled guest rooms, expanded lobby, and the addition of a bar/lounge we will be offering one of the top hotels in the Silicon Valley.

Again, thank you for taking the time to let us and all of our guests know everything about your stay. We look forward to having you again soon post-renovation at the "New" La Quinta Inn San Jose Airport.

“Excellent Stay”

I had originally booked my reservations for a week and ended up staying there for 5 months since my work had extended. Offered me great weekly and monthly rates! Convenient location to reach anywhere in San Jose & Santa Clara and everywhere else in the South Bay. The rooms are pretty decent and roomy, the beds are comfortable for a good night's sleep and have lcd panels in many of them!
The best thing I like about this hotel is the staff and management. The General Manager Ryan DeLong personally helped me out with the reservations as I had to extend my stay many times, hassle free. Nice and understanding personality. Also Rachel and Mhike at the front desk are very nice and friendly and helped me to make my stay at this hotel very easy and worry free.
From what I've known, they gonna remodel the whole place soon, remodel the rooms and add some water fountains, an elevator, and a restaurant. Would definitely check it out once it's done.
I would really like to thank Ryan, Rachel and Mhike for doing such a great job for making my stay one of the most pleasant ones I've ever had.

I am glad to hear that we met and exceeded your expectations. Since our new ownership and management team have recently taken over our goal is to make sure each stay is a memorable one.

You are exactly correct regarding the renovation and since your departure we are well into the process of completing it. As much as you enjoyed your previous stay, I know you will be ecstatic to see what we have done with the property. “Clean, But Dated”

This property was clean enough, but badly dated. Although there was free wi-fi, they still have old analog TV's, there was no working phone in the room, and the water alternately ran steaming hot and freezing cold during my shower. No restaurant, no lobby, minimal breakfast. It was surprisingly quiet despite the remodeling. It looks as if it might previously been a TraveLodge.

Room Tip: Try and get a room on the "back" side, away from the main parking and the Burger King.

Dear HummberBob,

Thank you for taking the time to recap your stay with us. I think we would all agree with you that the property is dated but I can assure you that post renovation you will not recognize our "New" La Quinta Inn. Everybody is working away while I send you this response to get this renovation completed as soon as possible. Our new ownership and management team have made this renovation our number one priority and we are very excited to show all of our guest what we have done to make their stays more enjoyable.

Once we have completed the renovation you will notice that we really went from 0 to 10 on technology and electronics in the room. We will have moved to HD flat screen televisions with DirecTv HD Residential experience. Our in-room phones will be part of a multifunctional media device to connect your laptop as well as other electrical devices. We recognize our location within the Silicon Valley and we want to stay up to date with our guests.

Some of the items you can expect outside of our renovated guest rooms are: completely remodeled lobby and breakfast area, and the addition of bar/lounge. We will be updating the exterior of the building and adding modern landscaping.

Again, I do appreciate your input on our property and the time it took to write it. I can assure you we are working hard to correct all you mentioned in your response and we can't wait to unveil the final product for you. Take care and we will see you soon!

“Wait until the renovations are done”

I would probably give this La Quinta 2.5 stars, but that isn't offered. I think it will be a nice hotel when the renovations are complete. The rooms are quite large and the sink/vanity area is separate from the bathroom, which makes it easier for two people to get ready at the same time. The beds were comfortable and the towels were pretty large. There is a mini-fridge in the room as well. We were on the second floor and there is not an elevator, just stairs. I understand that an elevator will be added during the renovation. The current rooms are old and shabby - ours had stains on the drapery, huge cracks in the ceiling and the bathroom could have been cleaner. The staff was friendly and I might give this location another chance once the renovations are complete, but not until then.

I would first like to apologize for the issues you mentioned in your response and also guarantee you that each one of those items will be taken care of during this renovation. I really do appreciate you bringing these issues to my attention so I can make sure my maintenance team addresses each concern.

This property has recently taken on new ownership and a new management team that have a history of award winning hotels. We are eager to get the renovation completed because we understand the potential this property has and we are working hard to make that happen ASAP. We would love to have you back prior or post renovation but I can guarantee you that we will have a hotel that matches our outstanding customer service once it is completed. “Great Value”

Enormous room for a bargain price! Very comfortable bed, clean room and friendly, helpful staff. The breakfast was slightly odd but maybe that's just because I'm British! To get breakfast and airport shuttles included for 80 dollards seems like a bargain to me so the style of breakfast hasn't affected my rating. The shower was great I particularly noted how the shower curtain bent away from the bath in order to give more space whereas often you end up with the curtain stuck to your body - or I do at least!

Room Tip: I had a king room which was no more expensive than the others at the time of booking.
