“Fantastic stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 August 2006

We stayed here for 2 weeks with our 2 small children. We had a 2 bedroom suite. We had a great time. The rooms were clean and the kitchen was perfect for our extended stay. We swam in the pool and the spa everyday which was fantastic with the two kids. Pool towels were also provided poolside so we didn't have to carry down towels with us.

The hotel was conveniently located with an Asian supermarket and other small shops across the road and a normal supermarket close by. Valley Fair Shopping mall was not too far away, neither was Saratago Row and Winchester House.

What makes this hotel is the front desk staff. My two children insisted on saying hello and good bye to them everyday. They made them feel welcome and were never too busy to say hi. Kris, the assistant manager, was extremely helpful providing us with information on things that we could do with the children and how to get around on public transport.

My only complaint would be one of the cleaning staff did not seem to understand English very well so when I told her that she would have to come back later as the kids were asleep she nodded and I never saw her again. And another time I asked her to just empty the bins and she nodded and walked away. This was a bit annoying but did not ruin our stay.

We will be back, my children insist on it!!

“Nice (But Not Remarkable) New Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 March 2006

The TownePlace Cupertino is a fairly new property that is a nice comfortable stay. The property is a good value for the money and would be great for an extended stay. The rooms are a small suite with full kitchen. The kitchen includes a dishwasher, a small stove (with oven) and a full sized refrigerator.

The staff was very friendly at check-in. My only problem was that the one drink machine in the hotel was empty and unplugged with the door open. When I inquired as to where the closest place to get something to drink would be, the desk clerk walked me down to the non-functioning machine. From the looks of it, it had been empty for some time - you would think he would have known.

Decent exercise room. Very nice bedding. Free high speed internet.

One other thing to note, Saratoga Avenue can get pretty busy during rush hour and in order to get back onto I-280 one must make a right into traffic, move across two lanes very quickly and make a U-turn at the light. Better hope you have drivers willing to let you over or you could be going well out of your way before you can turn around.

In conclusion, very friendly staff, nice new rooms, and a very good value especially for an extended stay.
