When I walked in this hotel, the receptionist did not greet or acknowledge. When I said why there is only one bed, he said he could do nothing. When I asked may I use your phone to call priceline 800 number, he said NO and asked me to use the pay phone outside and it was 10:30pm. He was rude and very unfriendly. After talking to his manager and finally I had to accept to pay $20+tax more for an upgrade to a two-bed room, he gave me the key to a one-bed room. Second time, he gave me a key to an occupied room with people in bed already. I was so embarrassed. Finally the third time he gave me the right room key after 40minutes checking process and it was a raining night and time was around 11:00pm. During this time he did not even mention a word for apology. This was Feb 12, 2009 night. I don't remember this particular employee's name but I am sure this is not a good hotel to the say the least. This is my worst hotel experience ever.

The hotel was not clean, the mattress was so thin /soft you could feel the box springs, the internet was VERY slow, and things in the room kept breaking (ironing borad, alarm clock, etc.). There was also no one to check me out before 6am, even though they told me the night before that someone would be there.

I normally don't care for extended stay hotels, but this one is the exception. I stayed for work, it was very clean, nicely furnised and the front desk was outstanding. I plan to stay there when working in the area. San Jose has a lot of bad areas but this hotel is near the corp. center part of town. Also I am a single woman traveling alone, nice interior halls.

The Homestead Studios was a decent hotel and a good value. I stayed for one night. the room had a full kitchen and eating area, a bed and a seating area. Very nice and roomy. The decor was a little dated but the room appeared clean. The desk clerk was friendly and helpful. I added the wireless internet to my bill for $5 (it is this price for the entire length of your stay- a one time fee) and was able to connect without any problems. There was an additional $25 pet fee. Because it was extremely hot, I was happy to have the refrigerator and freezer in the room. The night I spent there was quiet and peaceful. I never even heard other guests. The grounds are nice and shady with sidewalks and grass to walk your dog.

All in all I was satisfied with my stay and will most likely stay there again next year.
