We drove by this hotel every time we visit LA. It’s in the middle of the large Chinese community and we didn’t think it could be good. We like the location and stayed here for 3 nights. The hotel is much nicer than expected. The hotel is much bigger than it looks. This is one of the nicest Hilton we stay at. It has very nice architecture and decoration details. Lots of marbles and many small details that make this is into a great hotel. The Garden Terrace is a very pretty garden op top of the ballrooms. I think most of the people don’t even know about it. You have to take the elevator in the ballroom wing up to the 3rd floor to the Garden Terrace. The Garden feels very European and romantic, it has a fountain in the middle, a gazebo, and pretty plants and flowers. I can picture people to have a wedding there, or just hang out with friends there.
The pool / spa is also has very nice architecture. There is a large mural with cabanas on both sides. The hotel public area is beautiful and spacious. The restaurant is also very nice. It is not enclosed with walls. It’s like sitting out at the balcony. The buffet breakfast was great. The usual Hilton spread of cold cut, smoke salmon, fruits, cereals, hot items like sausage, French toast, beacon, scramble eggs. There is made to order omelet. Plus some Chinese specialties like Chicken Bun, dumpling, congee, and healthy tea. The suite with 2 beds is large. It has marble bathroom with Jacuzzi tub, separate marble shower, a bar sink and a pull out sofa bed. It fits 4 adults comfortably. Hotel is like the retreat oasis in the middle of the busy city.
Attached to the hotel is a plaza with many Chinese good eats and shops. There are more restaurants and shopping across the street, no need to drive. Self parking is in the underground garage. And to top it off, the hotel has a very nice smell to it. We notice when we first walked in. Then we got used to is and don’t smell it anymore. This hotel lives up to and in some area exceeds the Hilton standard.
