I am a little lost on the recent reviews that this property has been given. I do not believe they accurately review this property.
While the hotel is probably a little older than others in the area, it was a nice property. I spent two nights there. The lobby was bright, clean and inviting. The staff were excellent and the room rates were better than what was quoted online at Garden Inn or Hampton in the area. We ended up using Priceline.com, and lucked out at this hotel for a rate of $55. I would have had no problem with paying the published rate. The hotel did not seem "old" or was not "dark inside". The television was a flat screen TV. TV signal was a little grainy on some channels. Rooms were nicely decorated, carpet soft and clean (walked with white socks and they stayed white) and It had standard size elevators that were not an issue. The beds were very comfortable (and I'm pretty picky on that) with nice pillows and down comforter. So, as far as the rooms and staff go, they were more than adequate.
Another review mentioned the toilets and the breakfast buffet. I mention them together, because, well you know they were somewhat the same! Toilet was very low (I almost though I was back in Japan!) But, all joking aside, they were pretty low. Do not bother with the restaurant. Expensive with basic food choices. There are quite a few restaurants near there. We opted for IHOP right next door.
The pool/hot tub area was nice and clean. The kids enjoyed that. There is also a nice area with tables and gas grills to have an BBQ with a group.
Would I stay there again, probably. I had a great night sleep in a clean and quiet room. (oh, make sure when you make your reservation that you are on the opposite side of the freeway to reduce noise). I do have an issue with any hotel charging for WiFi. In this day and age, connectivity is a must and I feel that charging for a wireless internet connection is just sticking it to me. As a rule I do not stay anywhere that charges, and here they did.
Room Tip: High Floor, Away from Elevator, facing the front of the building. Building sets next to I-215 / I-1...
