This week I had a training in Sacramento. I went to Super 8 at 7:40 A.M. to ask about their room and price as well as whether the price in the internet was still valid. The manager (I noticed her name: Teri) told me they never dealt with "internet pricing...only direct booking." She told me to stay away from other hotels around the area because "those hotels" were full of prostitutes. She told me the rate for a night was $55 except that she only expected to have only one room. I was showed a non-smoking room which smelled like someone just smoked there. I left to my class and returned at 2:30 P.M. to book a room to stay for the night. HELLO! The price of the same room was now $68. Needless to say I went o Motel 6 and had a very good night. I will be staying in Motel 6 for the next two weeks for my class.

I really rate the carpeting in the hotel it always looks dirty even right after cleaning. The hotel staff is great and friendly and it is central to the 80. The internet is free but tends to be a little intermittent. People whine about too many things, there is no wifi but there is an RJ45 jack so you can get on the internet from sitting at the desk it. God people in SF you would pay 3 times the amount for less.

OMG! Past reviewers were correct. The night clerk at this hotel is very RUDE!. The Ali G wanna be must be the property owner's son. You know you have a bad location when he takes a copy of your DL. When I ask if I could get the copy back, he said it was transferred to "Head Office" and then destroyed after 2 month. He went on to explain to me that they need the DL so that they can show the police my face pic, should I "Trash the room". The only redeeming grace for this location was the Daytime Desk Manager that gave me back my DL Photocopy and explained to me that it was NOT their policy to keep my photo on file. She told me that she discovered other DL photos from over 2 years ago that were never destroyed.

Just a note: Always ask where your personal and credit card information is going. Cases of ID fraud can sometimes be traced back from a transaction several years ago.

The hotel is in a great location off the I80 freeway. There is even a drive thru SBUX across the street. The room was clean and comfortable. Only drawback, no in room wifi (Pref. to have wifi over a TV set). For the money spent, I was satisified.

My husband and I stayed here as a home base to visit friends and family in the area. It is an older hotel, but our room looked like it had been recently refurbished.

The room was clean. We had a king bed and the bed was pretty good, but a little firm for me. The linens were in good condition. The bathroom had the sink just outside the bathroom door, with the toilet and shower in the actual bathroom. It was a small space but adequate. There was a refridge and coffee maker in the room, which was nice. Overall the no problems with the room.

We did have a problem with the wifi though. It NEVER worked, not once, ever. They have a little disclaimer to sign when you check in saying that wifi is offered as is (which for us was non existant - and we tried at different times throughout the days). I'm guessing that's so if you complain about it not working, they can say it's offered as is. If you're going to advertise free wifi, it should work at least some of the time. I work with computers on a daily basis, so I know the things that can happen to them, but for it not to work the entire almost week we were there is a little sad.

The cont breakfast is pretty standard, nothing special. They only had one type of cold cereal offered (raisin brand like), bread for toast, and muffins. No hot stuff at all, not even instant oatmeal. It's enough to get you started though.

The staff overall was friendly. The housekeepers were very nice. Most of the front desk staff was pretty good also. We did see a couple instances of who I'd guess to be the manager yelling at the staff because they'd left the desk to get something for one of the guests and the phone was ringing while they were gone. He was standing right there, why didn't he pick it up? Maybe they were just having an off day.

Overall, would we stay here again, yes. It was just a place to sleep and shower while we visited with friends and went to San Francisco a couple times and we got it for a good price. It's convenient to the highway and there are plenty of places to eat around, along with a Safeway if you need some pick up some snacks or soda. Hopefully the wifi works at least some of the time though.
