“Outstanding property & Staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

We had our wedding at this beautiful property. And the staff was very helpful and so friendly. None of our questions were left unanswered. Every one of our guest were equally impressed. We had also stayed the night at this property, as well as some of our guests, and the room cleansiness was imaculate. All of our guests were pleased, with all the services provided, as well as us (married couple)! We would most definitely recommend this place as the property is top notch.

“A Gem tucked away from the hustle & bustle”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

My stay was nothing short of fabulous! Everything sparkled with class, the staff was attentive, friendly, and practically jump to open the door, greet you as you walk in with a smile, valet your vehicle, and Chris at the front desk is charming.
My suite had a gas starter fireplace and a balcony that over looked the river. The rich leather sofa was a beautiful, comfortable and an exquisite touch. The bed was so cozy enveloping you in down..ahhh
My next treat was the amazing Spa with a full body massage, and a salt water hot tub. OMG...A great place to rejuvenate the mind and body. Totally recommend it!
Across the corridor is their full service restaurant. The food was great although I think the menu selections should have been not so eclectic for dinner. I didn't have the opportunity for room service, however I know it is available. Pamper, pamper pamper from the moment you arrive until you have to say good bye. This is my Sacramento pick for sure. We used it as a destination to San Fran, Napa Valley, Sausalito,Tahoe, Reno and the new and OLD city of Sac (that's what the locals call it)

Stayed at Le Rivage in October 2011 and our stay was excellent. Hotel stuff professional and friendly, our room had river view and was big, full of light and very clean. We will be back for sure.

Thank you for writing this review. At Le Rivage professional and friendly service is our main objective. The housekeeping department works extremely hard to ensure all guest rooms are clean and comfortable, so thank you for mentioning the cleanliness of our rooms. We are all glad to hear that you will be coming back to stay with us and we look forward to providing the same great service a beautiful guest room.

“Going back!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 January 2012

This was our last stop of a 4 day road trip before 10 days of camping. So we splurged on nicer hotel before 10 days sleeping on Thermarest. This is one of the nicest hotels I've stayed at anywhere...2nd only, perhaps, to Monterey Plaza...& a third of the cost. Not centrally located, which was fine for us but know that before you book. Excellent staff & hotel: clean, comfortable & quiet.

Just booked again for a return trip this May...may check out the restaurant this time.

Room Tip: River view king was quiet & nice view. Try Orphan Cafe on C Street for breakfast. A 10 min drive...

“Annoyed with unnecessary charges.”

I made reservations and paid with a credit card online, prior to my arrival. Upon arriving and checking in I was handed a document requesting my signed authorization to charge my credit card the amount of the stay (previously charged through the booking agency) and $100 a day for incidentals. When I explained I would not be using $100 a day, and that the room was prepaid and I was not interested in authorizing such a charge, but willing to guarantee I would pay for anything I did use. I was told I couldn't check in unless I signed and authorized their terms.

So I declined their delightful hospitality and went to the Hyatt downtown.....

Thank you for taking your time to share your experience with us. It appears that somewhere along the line you were misinformed. Our management team is very aware of what occurred, and we regret that there was miscommunication along the line. The booking agency that processed your reservation, called the hotel prior to your arrival to confirm your reservation and to make sure our front desk staff collected a form of payment upon check-in. Your room was not prepaid, and this was explained to you at check-in. Your online confirmation gives you a total for room and tax, but that doesn’t mean your credit card was processed for that amount, the credit card was taken online only to guarantee the reservation, not pay for it. The document you were handed was registration for check-in, it clearly states our policies so guests are fully informed. We do not charge you upon check-in, we only authorize your card, and the actual charge is not processed until you check-out. However, we do take the time to explain that debit cards will often reflect an authorization as a pending charge. We did offer to take cash as a deposit or use a credit card instead of a debit card and you declined. Most hotels do require additional authorization for incidentals, including the Hyatt. Le Rivage Hotel has a range of services that most guests take advantage of, and the proper measures are taken to ensure our guests can provide payment for these services.
We regret that this was not explained to you in advance and that we were not able to have you as our guest. We hope in the future, now that you are aware of our policies, you may give us the opportunity to welcome you as our guest and provide you with excellent service.
