It's the Econo Lodge - anyplace that has Econo in the name clearly sets an expectation - it's not the 5 Seasons - but it's only $53/night, for a Sat. night! Honestly, there's nothing to complain about with this place. The location seems to be on the border - if you head south on 16th St. then the neighborhood seems to improve quite a bit - but heading north doesn't seem to offer quite the same experience. Luckily, to get to Harlows (which is where we're going to see the Animal Liberation Orchestra) you've got to head south, so no problem for us.
The room is very typical, nothing noteworthy from a good or bad perspective. Free wifi and a fridge in the room are both nice amenities. The woman we dealt with when checking in was the nicest person - she let us check in at 1pm even though check in is 2pm. And she was very thorough about explaining everything to us including how to get to our room, the free wifi, the continental breakfast - she was just a very pleasant person, which is, unfortunately, not the norm when staying at a budget motel.
