“Rundown”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 March 2011

I usually like the Quality Inn chain, but I'm surprised by the number of four-star reviews for this one. The front-desk staff was friendly, but the room reeked of bleach and was in some disrepair. The shower stall needed to be replaced, and the bathroom fan sounded like it was about to break. Parking is fairly limited. At 3:30 in the afternoon, there were only a few spots left. I think with a little love, this place could be fine, but as it is, it's below average.

“Good location, good value for money”

The hotel is not exactly in the city center, but not far, about a 25-30 minute walk from the Amtrak railway station and 10 minutes from the beautiful Capitol Park which houses the State Capitol. My room was remarkably clean and tidy every time I came back to it in the evening. The breakfast was also good with a large choice of food including scrambled egg, cereal, fresh fruit, yoghurt, bread and jam with of course tea and coffee. This is a good budget hotel for travellers and a great place to stay. Unbeatable value for money.

“Great value”

We were on a 2 week road trip around California and got a really good deal on this Sacramento hotel. It was the cheapest hotel on our trip, but had the widest choice at the buffet breakfast. It was the only hotel with some hot food options (sausages and scrambled eggs) in addtion to cereals, toast, boiled eggs, waffles, danish pastries, muffins, crumpets, yoghurt, fruit, juice & coffee/tea.

The hotel is looking a little tired (our room had some peeling wallpaper), but nothing too horrendous. Our room was very clean and the receptionist was very friendly and helpful.

There is a good choice of restaurants close to the hotel. The hotel is well located for the sights. We walked to the Capitol building (about 15 minutes walk) and walked on to Old Sacramento from there.

Our room was in a quiet location, but we arrived on a Friday night and I'm not sure if this is a popular location for hen/stag nights, but we did see a hen party, and we were woken up at 2.00am in the morning by a loud drunken group. Not sure how often this happens, but the hotel did seem fairly quiet apart from this.

“Adequate Room, Friendly Staff, Will Return”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 June 2010

We stayed 4 nights June 3rd - 6th, Room 209. There is a security gate on each floor so only guests can enter the floor level - I liked that extra security. The Breakfast was also a bonus. Our room had only a shower, but other family members travelling with us stayed in room 211 which had a bathtub. I also noticed a suite above the office if you need a bigger room. They have an outdoor pool which I didn't use but my family did - the kids seemed to enjoy that although it was very cold. Parking was tight but there were alot of oversized vehicles taking up room. Its not the Hyatt so don't expect 5 star and its an older building, patched walls here and there, but pretty decent for a midscale motel. It was clean and comfortable and a Great location with a good price. Would stay again.

“Great location and value”

I attended a conference and did other business. The location can't be beat. It's just a block from the convention center. The room was more than adequate and the staff was pleasant. Parking was a little tight, but there is plenty of it. (Not recommended if you have a BIG car, truck or SUV.)

This place is a great deal if you are going to a conference good because the rates are low and the parking is free. There are also lots of good restaurants within walking distance or a shrot drive. It's also a great location for doing business with state offices in the downtown area.
