Quality Inn, Sacramento
This Inn is pretty good in terms of price. I saw this hotel as the best low price in Sacramento. However, you get what you pay for.
I had to get to this hotel in a last minute trip. They were very accommodating and got me a room on the third floor. There is an interesting security precaution of walking up the stairs to the gate that guards the second and third floors and you put in your room key into the slot to unlock. Clever.
The room I got was clean and presentable, nice Queen bed that was not too hard or soft. Good heater for the cold winter Sacramento nights. However, the shower ran pretty much hot and cold when it wanted to. Even with the fine finesse of the shower head and faucet, it was nearly impossible not to freeze or burn. I took a very short shower!
The next day I got a new room because I found I needed to stay one more night. This time I got a room on the second floor. Beware that the office people lock their door at night so you have to get their attention and knock on the door for them to open up. Not sure why. The neighborhood looked safe to me.
Anyway, the complementary coffee was there, but NO coffee machine! And when I tried to use the auto hairdryer, it burned out. And watch their alarm clocks. I found that the previous guest apparently set the clock for 7:30 AM or so. The staff should turn the radio/alarms off when taking care of the room for the new guest.
Complimentary breakfast is not bad. Scrambled eggs and sausage, coffee, juice and some great California oranges top the menu.
Bottom Line: The staff are friendly and the maid staff know what they’re doing which is great. But the lack of attention to detail, water pressure and heat needs more attention from management. Oh, there is a TripAdvisor logo on the window, so they do read the reviews!
