At one point I sang a part of this song to my sister because it seemed so true! The hotel is one of the worst I've been to. The lobby seemed clean but that's about the only good thing I can say about the entire stay. When we checked in the woman at reception didn't want to honor the rate we had been quoted over the phone. She finally agreed but refused to give us the complimentary tickets to the State Fair that we were promised. Told us to come back later and talk to Wayne. Okay, so we go up to our room via a scary elevator and the door to our room looks as if it has been broken down at some point. Nice. Once in the room we notice that there is not microwave or refridgerator as we were promised over the phone. So back down to the lobby we go. "We'll get one up to you when we locate one." Back up to the room and we notice that there is only 1 set of towels. There are 4 of us in the room so that won't work. We then sat on the bed to call the lobby and noticed that if you leaned towards the wall, the light next to the bed would go off and on. So we pick up the phone to call and no dial tone. Back down to the lobby we go, this time with a list. The phone doesn't work, the light has bad wiring and we need towels, oh and don't forget the fridge and microwave that we were promised. We ask for Wayne as he is supposed to be there by then. A man with the name tag "Anthony" claims to be Wayne so we remind him of the things he has promised when we made our reservations via phone. He can't give us tickets to the fair without "Jesse's" approval so a call is made to Jesse. We get the tickets we were promised and off to the Fair we go, leaving them to fix issues we have had. When we return we ask about the problems. The issues have been fixed but there is no microwave or fridge to be had. They have all been taken as first come, first serve. Fine. At this point we go back up to the room. The scary elevator has gotten worse and now sounds as if it's on it's last thread to make it to the fourth floor. Check the towels, check the light and the phone. Their "fix" was to pull the bed away from the wall. Hmmm. Attempted to call the lobby for the pool hours and the phone stops working again. Perfect. We go to sleep hoping that we're still alive in the morning. In the middle of the night there is shouting and police lights. Wonderful! The next day we left the hotel early and returned at dinner time. The kids wanted to swim so into the pool they go. Why can't we see the bottom of the pool? Why is the water green? Out and into the shower to clean off whatever muck they just picked up. Last night here. Slept okay. Room was cold and no way to change that. Checked out first thing the next morning. Taxes and fees were aweful. Safe fee? We didn't use the safe! Piled into the car and drove away as fast as possible!!! Hotel California couldn't keep a hold on us!
