“Modern and friendly”

My husband and I stayed here for one night and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The staff were very friendly and check-in took only two minutes. Our room was modern and comfortable and faced the park in front of the Capitol. We ate dinner at Dawson's steakhouse, which was excellent. I worked out in the fitness room, which was only adequate. It was raining, which made it inconvenient to walk around the outside to enter the fitness room (the only entrance faces the street on the side of the hotel). The breakfast buffet was excellent. Service all-around was great. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

“New renovations make Hyatt Sacto quite swanky!”

We stayed overnight here after a function in the ballroom. We hadn't been at the Hyatt since they completed renovations last fall. The public areas are gorgeous, very clean and modern without feeling cold. Rooms are also well-appointed although not big. The location across from the Capitol grounds is gorgeous and central. Our only disappointment was the buffet breakfast, which was fine but not as extensive as previously (when they had a made-to-order section). We also found the restaurant fine but nothing special for dinner, although our server was one of the best we have ever had!

“top spot”

I visit Sacramento once or twice a year on business. This is my favorite place to stay with very comfortable rooms. The location downtown across from the State Capitol and near a variety of good restaurants can't be beat. The hotel breakfast buffet is varied and fresh with lots of healthy choices--like what you see in an upscale Asian or Mideastern resort but rarely in the USA.

The gym is much better than those in most hotels and there is a heated outdoor pool. Staff are friendly and helpful. Overnight self-parking is $17 (valet parking is more).

Room Tip: Upper floors facing the Capitol gardens have nice views.

“Great Hotel in Great Location!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

We got a good deal off Priceline and made a spontaneous trip to Sacramento to stay in this awesome hotel. The young gentleman who checked us in didn't make us feel like we were second class citizens because we booked on Priceline (I never understand why some hotels do this??), and gave us one of the upper level rooms. We had read this site beforehand and requested to higher up room for the noise factor. On the thirteenth floor, there were only 6 or 7 other rooms! The rooms are very nicely decorated with big flat screen televisions, a nice touch. We walked around the downtown area and had dinner at The Cafeteria... very good! We will definitely return to this hotel, with or without Priceline.

Room Tip: The Cafeteria had great food, great service and was a short walk east of the hotel on the same side...
