We love Best Westerns in general and feel safe to be there. This hotel was an exception, sadly. Located in NOT a good area and the ambiance was non-existent. The bed was fine, but the overall "feel" to the hotel way under par. We entered our wing of the hotel through an outside hallway, which was not inviting because of the cold and rain. The room itself was done in bright reds and golds and oranges, which are really not comforting or restful colors. IF all you need is a good bed, this would be fine!

We stayed here for one night after getting off the plane at San Francisco. It's well placed for sight seeing in Sacramento . Old sac being about a ten minute walk and the state Capitol building.is nearer still. The hotel is of unusual design and you could easily drive by without realising it's a hotel. Parking is covered and plentiful.The lobby staff were friendly and helpful.
Our room was pleasant , clean , well decorated and a reasonable size for an average brit couple. The beds were confortable and we slept well. There was from memory some road noise but that was about it . But we were staying on a weekend.
The complimentary breakfast was self service and was "american style" with croissants bagels and I had great fun with the waffle making machine. Overall a good place to stay well placed and pleasant .
Old sac is very much a tourist trap with lots of candy stores and the like. It's enjoyable enough but you could probably see it all within an hour or so. We had a nice dinner in a Mexican restaurant in old Sac and enjoyed watching the impromptu cruise that was going on at the time on the street below. Lots of "low riders" and some nice bikes thrown in.One of the nice suprises and probably the best tourist attraction in Sacramento is the State Capitol building. I would well recommend this. make sure you take the guided tour as it's a mine of information.

Have stayed at this hotel 3 times. The location is great, the area is good, parking is easy, front desk employees are very nice and helpful and rooms are clean and inexpensive. I like this place and will continue to stay here.

Hotel is directly in downtown Sacramento and amongst all the big restaurants and the capitol building. Had a room facing the pool area. Went to a bar/restaurant in the best western parking lot ..literally 20 steps out the door, convenient. Beds were EXTREMELY comfy and sunk right into it. Only downside was the paper thin walls.. could hear neighbors on both sides of us.. till 3am, as well as in the pool area. Most of the room looked updated.
