Beautiful old building tastefully maintained. Little pricy. Rooms are clean. But there's not much privacy. We were on the ground floor and we could hear everything from the top floor above us. That was pretty annoying and shattered the peace and quiet we came here for !
Service was excellent. Hostesses were very nice.

My husband's parents live in Sacramento so we visit every other month. This inn makes it worth the visit. It is located near nice restaurants--the Waterboy for one, Mulvaney's is another. I think we have stayed in all the rooms at the inn by now. They are all just great. The breakfast in the morning is always wonderful. You can have it delivered to your room (which is what we always do) or go to the main dining room. We will only stay here when we go to Sacto.

I have stayed at The Amber House many times over the years and it is always different, yet the quality of this unique two home facility is always of the highest and most gracious imaginable.

Every room is individual and different, yet all have a Victorian theme. (The rooms are all named after famous classical composers.) I recommend enjoying breakdfast at least one day in the dining room: the place setting, silverware, and floral accents are exquisite. Of course the food is the best in town.The fresh-baked cookies and beverages in the evening are a wonderful treat to come home to from a night on the town.

Got a room here as a birthday present for a friend. The innkeepers were fabulous... taking such awesome care of us, making arrangements for us to get our room early, to get a massage (with Shelly, who was awesome herself). The room was perfect, breakfast was perfect, atmosphere was perfect, the whole bed and breakfast is a 10 Star place! Jeez, I know I sound like I'm over-doing the superlatives; but I'm not! You just gotta go here!
