We stay overnight in Sacramento several times a year with our two children. We like the Residence Inn chain in general for family travel, but this one is in a class by itself. Decor is hip and new (some RI properties in Sacto and elsewhere are rather tired). Kitchen is fully equipped and very high end (granite, stainless). Living room is funky and comfy, and bedrooms and bathrooms are well-appointed. The included breakfast is adequate although not fabulous (premade eggs, sausages, oatmeal and make your own waffles, plus the usual cold options). Only downside is parking; you park next door in a garage where we have repeatedly faced confusion about what levels to park on, etc. In sum, this is a great choice for families but would also recommend for a romantic stay as well. It's on a par with the Hyatt, Sheraton and other hotels, unless you want room service.
