This hotel is close to the SMF airport and offers great prices for weekend nights if you are a Marriott Rewards member. The rooms are immaculate, nicely furnished, and almost new. The king suite with sofabed is not as large as some suites (i.e. Comfort Suites) but is thoughtfully laid out so that sink and bath lighting does not bother late sleepers. The HVAC unit worked great, shower pressure was fantastic, water never went cold, drains worked well. There is another sink in the living area with microwave & refrigerator. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and even the sofa sleeper was comfortable, which is hard to find. No back problems in the morning.
We arrived fairly late and found that the microwave was missing but it was immediately replaced, and we ate the frozen entrees that were offered next to the front desk. That was very convenient and appreciated. However, they could do a better job of keeping the frozen selections as fresh and presentable as possible. I was impressed that a first floor room was reserved for us as requested even after checking in late. The foam pillow request was not accommodated but we found the feather pillows very comfortable. We also had to ask for a blanket for the sofa sleeper even though the room was reserved for 3 adults.
The location is very good for proximity to the airport and I-80. However, due to the way I-5 exits are laid out and geographic constraints of the nearby Sacramento River, it can be hard to find your way around to restaurants and shopping. The hotel caters to business travelers and is located in an office park. If you can find your way to Truxel Boulevard and travel norh across I-80 many services are available.
The breakfast is a super deluxe hot affair that is very well serviced. The front desk was very helpful and friendly. This was a super find and I'd love to stay here again.
