The property is on a great location just a block from Old Sacramento shops and restaurants. Just a couple more blocks is the Downtown mall with Macys as an anchor store, movie theater and more shops and restaurants. The hotel is right on the river, which makes for a nice stroll. The rooms are nice, but not plush. The breakfast has a lot of standard fare like scrambled eggs, potatoes, bacon, waffles, etc. Not much fruit or healthier options, though. Overall, the accommodations are on par with any other Embassy Suite.
What was lacking, however, was the service. First, it took 30 minutes and two phone calls for our bags to arrive at our room upon check in. The valets took 15 - 20 minutes to bring the cars around. This occurred for all three days of our stay so it was not limited to a one time short staff. Finally upon check out we waited another 30 minutes for a bell hop to help with the bags before we ended up just making two trips ourselves to get our bags down to the car (which still wasn't ready!).
If the price is right, it's a nice hotel given it's prime location, but expect to have to be self-reliant in regards to your luggage and car.
