I really wasn't expecting much from this motel, as it was only 60 dollars after tax for two beds. Suprisingly, the room had hardwood floors and fairly comfortable beds. I also appreciated the double set of overlapping curtains that allowed me to actually sleep-in. One disappoint we had was the fact that they just gave us two bars of soap in the bathroom, no shampoo, let alone conditioner or lotion. We only stayed one night and it wasn't a big enough deal for us to inquire about, so it's possible the housekeeping just forgot to put some in our room. As far as sleeping goes, I would have slept a little better if the place had centralized air rather than a wall unit. Everytime the AC would turn on or shut off during the night it would wake me up a little.
The location wasn't great, as some other reviewers have pointed out. Although I didn't have any problems with noise or "shady-looking" people, I could see how that might sometimes be a problem at this place. However, I think some people just become paranoid when they see shady-looking people and tend to overreact. "Price of motel room" and the "druggie/prostitute crowd" are somewhat negatively correlated (i.e. when price goes down, that crowd tends to become more prevalent and vice versa), so I don't know why people are so surprised about the quality of a place when they clearly don't pay top dollar. Doesn't it go without saying that you get what you pay for? That being said, this wasn't the cheapest motel in town, ergo it didn't seem to have much of a problem with "that crowd" -- at least not in my experience (we stayed on a Friday night).
To end on a brighter note, the motel was literally right next to the century dome theaters, so we just walked over there in the morning and took advantage of the theater's early bird special ($5.50 if you make it to the first showing of the day--at time of this review). If you're looking for a fair-priced motel room for a night or two and you aren't afraid of the dark, then I recommend this place to you.
