“Decent hotel but a lot of highway noise”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 December 2011

We stayed here for my daughter's soccer tournament. The hotel was very clean and the rooms were nice. The breakfast food was pretty decent for free. My biggest complaint was probably the highway noise. It's right next to Hwy 80 business and there's noise all night from it. The area is ok but it's not a good hotel for walking to different places. It was very reasonably priced and worked for our purposes overall.

Dear Guest,
Thank you for taking the time to post a review. In regards to freeway noise - yes we are located directly next to the freeway. However, being a BRAND NEW BUILD property (Opened Dec 2009) this was taken into consideration and all of our sleeping rooms facing the freeway were double sheet-rocked to reduce the noise. I can personally go to any of these rooms and close the windows and not hear a thing except for the a/c or heater being on. So perhaps your window was partially open during your stay or there was a special event that required above normal traffic. Our property is a new and was built with the guests comforts in mind! I am sure that if you revisit us, you will not experience your concerns in the sleeping rooms again.

“Good value for Price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 December 2011

Convenient location off Hwy 80. Close to all shopping and restaurants. Full breakfast in morning and nice happy hour weekly. Rooms are comfortable, clean and quiet - furniture updated and in good repair. Staff courteous and helpful - good price for value especially for business travelers. Location is industrial area, nothing scenic but if you are here for a short stay, it's a good choice.

“Very nice - great room, good service, decent happy hour/breakfast.”

I'm very happy with this hotel as well as the Hampton next door (same owner I believe). They stress service and make sure you have all that you need. The happy hour is great - wine, beer, and snacks - enough that some of our folks didn't go out for dinner. Breakfast had tons of choices. Nice and quiet, clean! I like this location if you are going to McClellan business park because you don't have to get on the freeway.

Room Tip: I didn't notice any difference. You may want to get a more isolated room if the hotel isn't...

“You get what you pay for.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2011

Nothing special, but nothing horrible. The area wasn't the best either. Good bet for a budget concious family on the go.

“Excellent hotel. Not close to much, but businessmen don't need much.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 September 2011

Was in Sacramento on business Aug 15-18th, stayed in this HIE for three nights. Such a great find. They have a shuttle that will pick you up from the Sacramento Airport, with 24hr notice for $15, which is less than SuperShuttle. The drive was pleasant and the driver knew the area well as we talked about Sacramento on the way back to the hotel.

The property is less than two years old and looks great. The lobby was clean and spacious, and the elevator close to the lobby. Hallways were clean and smelled fresh. I requested a room farther back from the freeway, and it was very quiet. I had a king bed room, and it was very clean and spacious. Super comfy bed with a good choice of pillows. Blackout curtains were awesome. Wall-mounted controls for the A/C unit worked great, kept the room at 70º, which was welcomed considering the heat wave Sacramento was having. Bathroom was spotless and all granite, great water pressure.

TV channels were good, with a good selection of on demmand movies. Wireless internet was very quick (and free!), and gave me zero troubles. Furnishings were clean and comfortable.

The buffet breakfast was nice, good variety (changing daily) of pastries, bagels, muffins, eggs, bacon, sausage, fruit, yogurt, milk, juice, coffee, and of course, HIE cinnamon rolls. The only item I didn't enjoy was the "cheese omlette" - which was basically EasyCheese inside a folded egg... Pretty gross. Other than that, the dining area was clean, spacious, with multiple flat-screen tvs on CNN and MSNBC.

As for locaiton and food, most places close to the hotel deliver with a minimum purchase -- I tried things from Domino's Pizza (cheapest minimum order was $7) and enjoyed the chicken wings one night and a baked sub the next.

Checkout was prompt and curteous. I needed duplicates showing a 'zero balance' for work expenses, and they were quick and happy to help.

All in all a great hotel with curteous and helpful staff. If you're in for business in the Northern Sac area, stay here.
