“Filthy Dive, DO NOT STAY HERE! Call the Health Inspector!”

Ok, this hotel was horrible. First, it was smelly, old, filthy, and down right falling apart. We stayed here twice, to be close to the airport on the front end and back end of a trip to Napa. It was hard to go back the second time, but everything else was booked. The blanket was worn paper thin, the towels were tiny and thin, and the lightbulbs were burned out in the bathroom and several lamps. We stayed in room 106, both times. We told them about the lights when we checked out the first time. When we came back the second time, we got the same room. The lights were still burned out. Not only that, but because we were so cold the previous time, I requested an extra blanket. Frighteningly, they didn't have any. Both staff people searched for one, but said all their blankets were on the beds. So when we got to the room, we discovered that the same blanket and sheets were still on the bed that were there 4 days previously. I don't even want to discuss the filthy bedspread. We slept in our clothes!! Our friends stayed in the room next door and had different color blankets and theirs hadn't been changed either. I don't know what rooms they took pictures of on the web site, but I assure you, they are not the rooms you will get. This is so bad, I would call the health inspector.

After reviewing the travel coupon I decided on this motel. The rooms were very nice , clean and the staff were very friendly. I arrived late, the staff explained about the 24 hrs resturant around the corner.

“We Weren't Tired Enough”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 May 2007

We'd been driving all day and were so tired. But I wish we would have driven just a little farther. My husband and I don't expect much from a Motel 8; we know we get what we pay for. But hairs and "sticky dirt" on the counter around the sink made me wonder if they had cleaned anything at all. This should have been about $60 a night, not $89.

  • Liked — It was an immediate solution for weary travelers
  • Disliked — Very low standards in customer service and cleanliness

“Uh... its a Super 8 Motel, what do you expect?”

I booked this hotel through Hotwire. I requested a 2 1/2 star hotel but was given this 1 star establishment instead. I tried to cancel because I thought I was being ripped off, but Hotwire wouldn't let me. I know how gross these motels can be so we brought our our pillows and duvet. Regardless of the Hotwire debaucle, the staff was really friendly and let us do a late check out because we were in town for a marathon. The room was clean for a motel, but the pipes and the floors squeaked all night. There are gaps in the floorboard that are covered with a garrish green carpet. The freeway is totally loud, so bring ear plugs. Oh, don't forget the homeless tent-city encampment right outside your window. How charming.

“ok”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 October 2006

The room was clean but because I was put on the upper floor in the very back, the wireless internet that I was promised did not work. The signal was too faint to pick up. I had to use the dial-up which was dreadfully slow. Also the television had no remote and when manually changing the channel the tv would turn off. Rather frustrating as a solo traveler just spending the night and wanting to watch the tv. The breakfast spread was satisfactory. Since I was looking for something economical in the city and something easy to find I picked this motel right off the freeway. It was easy enough to find but the freeway traffic was pretty loud and since my room was right on the street I was awaken at 3am with a loud blast of fire crackers. Certainly not the fault of the management but irritating non the less.

  • Liked — easy to find from freeway
  • Disliked — television channel changer inoperable and no remote
  • Tips/Secrets — might as well stay somewhere less expensive if possible
