“Excellent Hotel - great stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

We had a room with two queen beds. Very clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly. The pool and spa were clean and just the right temperatures. The breakfast was great. They only have egg sandwiches for those who like their eggs in the morning. However, they had cooked oatmeal that was not runny, bisquits and gravy, waffles, and a selection of cereals plus all the usual breads. Lots of food. This hotel is definitely close to everything. We had several choices of restaurants within an easy walk. The road is very busy and we didn't feel like fighting any more traffic, so this was a plus. That said, I didn't hear any road noise, but if you are sensitive to noise, ask for a room away from the road. Note: we stayed in the middle of the week and the hotel wasn't very crowded. Almost all the other guests were there due to business. This would be my hotel of choice if I were to stay in Roseville again.

“OK hotel, just ask to be at the rear!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 January 2012

The hotel was fine. Clean rooms, free breakfast and easy to find. We were on the 3rd floor and at the front of the building - lots of road noise! The breakfast was alright, the standard cereal, fruit and toast/pastry assortment with yogurt. The breakfast sandwiches were gone when we got there an hour after breakfast started...apparently the night we stayed was the same one that a girls volleyball team stayed! Aside from that the hotel common areas and our room were clean (smell of air freshener was a bit overpowering in the room though so we left the window open a jar while we were out in the early evening). Overall it was decent but next time I think we're going to try the Residence Inn that's in the very same parking lot.

Room Tip: Request a room at the backside of the hotel - should have less road noise.

“Very clean rooms, friendly staff, awesome breakfast & 5 min drive from EVERYTHING: Galleria Mall, In N Out, movie theatre, resta”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 December 2011 via mobile

I really enjoyed my 3 day stay at the Marriot's Fairfield Inn. The front desk staff was very warm, welcoming and down to earth- after talking to them, they're a great group. The heated indoor pool was nice; Rooms were avg. Size, with comfortable beds and good bedding. You can request a mini fridge and microwave in your room if there isn't one already in there. Free breakfast was good- they have hot oatmeal and bacon, eggs, pastries, cold cereal, juices, fruit and coffee of course. This was a last minute pick and they were definitely accommodating, having my reservation ready 10 mins after I booked it online. If you're looking for somewhere to stop before heading up to Tahoe, this place is great. I was only 30 mins from downtown Sac as well as 15 mins from old town Folsom and other neat places. Having In n Out just a 5 min WALK away was nice too!

“Surprised at how nice it was”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 November 2011

We stayed at the Marriott Fairfield rather than the Residence Inn where we usually stay because it was considerably cheaper, and were pleasantly surprised. The king room was adequate, clean and the bathroom plenty large. The free breakfast was nice. It included waffles, hard boiled eggs, cereal, toast, bagels, fruit, juices, coffee/tea, and pastries. The free wi-fi worked fine in our room. The nice receptionist (probation officer out of his line of work) was patient, while I fought with Chase to get my Marriott credit card working.
My only complaint was the kids (probably a team) who took over the small lobby and public internet playing games, making it unavailable for those needing to do business on it- like airline check-ins.
I don't know where the previous reviewers stayed, but it sure doesn't seem like they were at the same place we were. And they need to have their kids be respectful of a public computer.

Room Tip: Probably off the street side, although we didn't hear any noise with the windows closed on the s...

“Lost our reservations 2x! - Disorganized, loud, shabby!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 November 2011

Ugh, where to start. This was a disaster. To be fair, we were supposed to stay at the Roseville Courtyard, and even though I have a signed contract (group travel), they had no record of the reservation (signed by our manager AND their group sales director) and we were booted to the Fairfield. They ALSO lost our group block and lead to sheer panic the day before travel when I happened to call "just in case" bc they had so badly muffed prior reservations. Sure enough, we were lost AGAIN, and had to take five rooms that were NOT what we ordered.... queen/queens (four people to a room) but Kings + a tiny pull-out bed. Ick. The front desk guy was embarrassed when one of our rooms was just *Poof* gone, and that member was holding her confirmation in hand from the hotel, so that was a bummer. His best advice was to 'go find something else'. I offered to share mine, and I went down later and he did find her a room, he was harmless but also hapless. Bc they lost our Courtyard reservations, they agreed to let our people go over to there for breakfast. Some of our group can't eat wheat, so proteins are key. That didn't happen, and they said they'd have hot breakfast for the weekend to meet our needs. Day one, that didn't happen, it was awful and we felt like we were being prima-donna-ish with the staff, and they thought we were crazy bc no one had told them of all that had come before. No wi-fi the whole weekend (it was broken), the pool had a weird gel-like slick on it, and my toilet overflowed the first day. Also, the housekeeper told me to hurry up bc I was late to check out. I wasn't checking out until the next day and again, I WAS WITH A GROUP. Also they put the bills of non-group members on my visa card. Is that enough? I was going to try to sort it out with customer service and not write this bc, naturally, they would make it right, but alas..... customer service said that they couldn't help with group reservation problems, and group sales wasn't even answering the phone, so after a few hours of trying to get satifiaction, I figured people ought to know what they are getting into with this hotel. I have email confirmations going back five months, I was certain that they'd comp this, chock it up to bad luck and move on. Nope. They just don't care. Haven't had this problem with Marriott before, usually quite helpful and lovely, but I won't **ever** book with them again. We are a traveling sports team, so we do see lots of places, and we aren't picky, but this was ridiuclous. DO NOT USE THEM unless you have a very low resting heart rate. -- Oh and the front desk person kept telling me to "Just chill out!, Just chill out!" in a high-pitced tone after the second time our reservation was lost. That wasn't super either. And the handicapped restroom on the main floor was locked, a key lock, not a card lock!!!!
