I was very disappointed with our overall experience at this property. The only positive thing I have to say is that the staff was very friendly. For starters our room was filthy. The carpets had not been cleaned for some time, the light bulbs were missing in the lamps, the beds were very uncomfortable. The bathroom was in serious need of some simple repairs, wallpaper lifting and peeling, dirty walls and door frames. When we first got there my daughter went to use the restroom and there was only enough tissue for one use. I had to go to the desk to get another roll of tissue. They did provide 1 small soap and shampoo but the problem was that the shampoo had been used and refilled with water. This was not an issue for us as we always bring all our own from home but I thought that was just plain tacky. Now I will say that I am the General Manager at a hotel in the Lake Tahoe area and I know the standards that I have for my property are a high but this hotel didnt seem to care at all about the cleanliness of the rooms in any way. I had to wonder if they even have a housekeeping supervisor or inspectress that checks the rooms after the housekeepers are done. Obviously this didnt happen for our room because if they had inspected the room all these things could have been easily fixed. The beds still had the plastic on them from when they were purchased but that was some time ago because the beds were very uncomfortable and worn out. The overall exterior appearance of the property was not bad, it seemed to be well maintained but as for the interior and the rooms they just dont seem to get even the minimal of upkeep or maintenance. They are located right off the freeway and that wasnt a problem the noice wasnt a bother until the guests checked into the next room. They had a loud and noicey luggage cart that the desk gave them and it woke us all up. They were loud, rude and had no repect for the fact that it was 2 am. Would I stay there again? I can't say that I would but I may consider it if they have made some simple upgrades and imprvements to the rooms. My suggestion to management would be to stay in some of your rooms so that you can get the same experience that your guests get when they stay there. I do this at my hotel and that is the only way to really experience what your guests experience. I would also look at getting a better housekeeping supervisor or retaining the one you have.
Room Tip: Look at the room prior to checking in.. wish I had done so.
