“More than 15 months of staying here!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

By now I have stayed here more than 150 times about 10 days a month while on business.
The average motel/hotel rate in Sonoma County is about $150 per night. This is an absolute bargain! Many rooms are being constantly upgraded with new beds, etc. Although I rarely have observed noise or other problems they occasionally have happened. What can you expect with maybe 150 guests on a given night? The staff will move you if you do not like your room. I have never heard noise from an adjacent room. I have personally observed rooms being totally cleaned, including carpets, on a frequent basis. Tex Hamilton

Room Tip: Because of highway contruction try to stay on the courtyard. Construction on hwy 101 is just about...

“Very disappointed!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 January 2012

I was very disappointed with our overall experience at this property. The only positive thing I have to say is that the staff was very friendly. For starters our room was filthy. The carpets had not been cleaned for some time, the light bulbs were missing in the lamps, the beds were very uncomfortable. The bathroom was in serious need of some simple repairs, wallpaper lifting and peeling, dirty walls and door frames. When we first got there my daughter went to use the restroom and there was only enough tissue for one use. I had to go to the desk to get another roll of tissue. They did provide 1 small soap and shampoo but the problem was that the shampoo had been used and refilled with water. This was not an issue for us as we always bring all our own from home but I thought that was just plain tacky. Now I will say that I am the General Manager at a hotel in the Lake Tahoe area and I know the standards that I have for my property are a high but this hotel didnt seem to care at all about the cleanliness of the rooms in any way. I had to wonder if they even have a housekeeping supervisor or inspectress that checks the rooms after the housekeepers are done. Obviously this didnt happen for our room because if they had inspected the room all these things could have been easily fixed. The beds still had the plastic on them from when they were purchased but that was some time ago because the beds were very uncomfortable and worn out. The overall exterior appearance of the property was not bad, it seemed to be well maintained but as for the interior and the rooms they just dont seem to get even the minimal of upkeep or maintenance. They are located right off the freeway and that wasnt a problem the noice wasnt a bother until the guests checked into the next room. They had a loud and noicey luggage cart that the desk gave them and it woke us all up. They were loud, rude and had no repect for the fact that it was 2 am. Would I stay there again? I can't say that I would but I may consider it if they have made some simple upgrades and imprvements to the rooms. My suggestion to management would be to stay in some of your rooms so that you can get the same experience that your guests get when they stay there. I do this at my hotel and that is the only way to really experience what your guests experience. I would also look at getting a better housekeeping supervisor or retaining the one you have.

Room Tip: Look at the room prior to checking in.. wish I had done so.

“Sleeping in your car is better than this place”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2012

We stayed here for 5 nights while waiting to find out where we were going to live after an unexpected move the day after christmas. Money was very tight which is how this hotel was chosen. We were given a room the first 3 nights that was next to people who lived there and had 2 yapping dogs. There is a no pet policy. These people would be outside our door at all hours yelling at friends in another room down the hall. The man staying in the room asked us as we were putting our stuff in the room if we had pills to sell him or find for him!! Um. Not okay. The fourth night we stayed there we had pulled up to park and get out to go to the office and the sherrif blocked us in, accussed me of smoking a joint (it was a cigarette) and saying that I was acting strange and must be on drugs. Our car was searched, I was thrown in the back of the sherrif car for over an hour! Never in my life have I experienced this. Nothing was found and we were treated like total white trash drug dealers because we were staying there. Things just get worse. The maids come by hours before check out to find out when you are leaving. The room we stayed in 3 nights was anything but clean, mascara stain on pillow that stayed, marks on mirror and dirt on carpet never cleaned up. Kleenex box was emptied the first night and not replaced and no back up toilet paper! No extra pillows or towels were ever available. They advertise a continental breakfast with coffee juice muffins. 1 day out of 5 there were muffins that were the mini ones. The last night we were there the people in the next room were so incredibly loud until 2am or so. Not to mention the morning showers were cold! They also advertise premium movie channels which is a joke! No tv in any of the rooms we had had more than 4-5will channels that were not anything premium or worth watching. We complained the morning we checked out and got a 25% off one night coupon. We decided later that afternoon to use the coupon and stay one more night. We went into the office and were informed that we were "DNR" because of a pet! Our dog was staying with a family member in town and she was seen in the car either before we dropped her off or after we picked her up! Never had a pet in the room! We were told that pets weren't allowed on the premises period! Haha! Thanks for even letting us explain or defend ourselves! So here we are now staying in our car because all the other area hotels are way to expensive! Will never recommend this place but rather tell everyone I speak to about our horrible experience here. So if we tell 10 people and they tell 10 people and so on, I'm pretty sure goodnight inns big 2 star rating will go nowhere but down.

“Nice and clean”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 November 2011

This hotel was nice and clean. Check-in was easy and fast and so was check-out. The breakfast is a quick breakfast (muffins and coffee). If you need a cheap place to stay, this is the place to go.

“Good Nite Inn has done a 180 degree turn for the better”

I write this review from 35,000 feet because I couldn't wait to get home and write what a truly wonderful time we had during our 8 night stay at this property! As our trip got closer, we had some really serious concerns because of all of the bad reviews we were seeing. I even attempted to call HOTWIRE and get transfered to another hotel. I even called the Rohnert Park police department and got a run down of the many police calls to this hotel. Also, they told me I (we) should stay somewhere else!

In the end, we decided to give the hotel the benefit of the doubt and we were pleasantly surprised to say the least! The hotel has a new manager (Adrian) who is really trying to make a go of the place. They now require a credit card be presented on check in so that took care of all of the transients from the days gone by. There wew stacks of old mattresses in and near the dumpster which have seen better days. The room was very clean and quiet. Martha even took the extra time to make sea shells out of the towels for us. Nice touch Martha! As I looked around the premises every day, I saw nice looking couples and families as well. Pleasant looking people all the way around.

Special thanks to John and Michelle as well!

Cheers,

Dale and Jane

I would like to thank our guest for not only staying with us but for giving us a second chance to show them that we can make positive changes and offer all of our guests a great stay. We have been trying really hard to bring our property back up to where it belongs and all of my staffs hard work is starting to show with reviews like this one. I hope to see them back again and thank them once again for a great review.

Best regards,
