“Great standard for a chain hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

This is a really lovely Doubletree hotel very close to all the action in Sonoma. We really only stay in hotels like these if we know we are just going to be there to rest our heads (because there's so much to do and see in the area) but this hotel chain is particularly clean, with spacious rooms, really comfortable beds and a nice, big pool. There's nothing personalised about the service but if what you're looking for is comfort and a good night's sleep then this is perfect!

“Average, average, average”

Nothing special about this property. It has gone through a renovation and they were bringing in the beds the day I stayed here. Front desk staff were polite but I don't remember hearing "Thank you!" or "Enjoy your stay!" or seeing a smile. Good bar, didn't try restaurant, room service available. Room is average bath was large. Overall a decent place to rest your head. Road Warrior approved.

“Take your money somewhere else.”

While the property seems nice, the hotel management's customer service is poor at best. My fiance and I (and our dog) stayed there on the last night of a long road trip. After driving all day in awful weather, we were REALLY looking forward to enjoying a nice hotel before hitting the final leg of our drive home. The hotel was nice for about 45 minutes. Then the power went out. The hotel did not have generator power for the rooms, so we sat in the dark, thinking the power would be back on shortly. After 15 minutes, we went to the front desk. We were given a glow stick and told they were working on the problem.

We were also quite disappointed with the amount of noise we could hear in the room. Because the power was out, people were walking the hallways and going in and out, and it sounded as if they were IN our room.

After sitting in the dark (or the light of a glow stick) for a few hours, we decided to try to get some sleep. When the power came back on at 12:30am, all the lights in the room woke us up, which was unpleasant.

Upon checkout, we inquired about receiving a discounted rate due to our uncomfortable stay. We were told we would have to contact the manager, who was not in at the time. Since then, I called the manager and left multiple messages, but have not received a response. We will not be staying at this property ever again.

“Pity about the welcome”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 January 2012

What welcome we were greeted to no concierge and then a very average welcome at the check in. What ever happened to "welcome to doubletree we hope you have a great stay". All we got was a few grunts and then showed where our room was. Rooms were lovely but the cleaning people were pretty average. Ok we forgot to leave a tip but to not even take away the glasses that we used the night before and leave the milk thingy still half full on the table was average. They could have also folded up the sofa bed so we had more room when we arrived back from our excursion to the napa valley. The one good thing was the breakfast and the staff that look after that area they were fantastic (and they got tips both days).

Don't expect the reception staff to assist you with any other bookings on your journey. They plead ignorance even when looking for a advance booking with another double tree hotel. How easy they could have made it with a little smile and just a " that won't be a problem sir" look on their face.

Overall a good place to stay they just need to invest in some good old fashioned friendliness from their reception staff.

Oh and by the way still waiting for my $25 deposit on what we might steal from the hotel without telling them to be repaid to my credit card Has been 2 days since we left.

“The Doubletree has been recently modernized...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 December 2011

I walked in and got a shock that they have remodeled. Honestly I think it looks nicer than before, and the rooms were very nice. Too bad I couldn't compare the old from the new though, Hilton deserves two thumbs up on the mod
