At first glance this place looks okay, but after spending 2 nights there, I can say it's shabby and ill-kept. The staff was courteous and friendly, but that can't quite overcome the peeling paint and wallpaper, funky smells and things that just don't quite work like they're supposed to without some coaxing. The "suite" is not a suite by anyone's imagination but a standard room with a divider bet. the small couch and the bed. A much better value can be had down the road at the Days Inn or the Heritage Inn, both in Rocklin also.

We made the mistake of recommending Comfort Suites for all of our out-of-town guests that came into town for our wedding in May of '06. Even though the Manager and her staff were very nice over the phone and were organized with the guest list, once I saw "their best room" that was reserved for my new Husband and I after the ceremony, I was very embarrassed to have my guests staying there. It looked very old and run down. The bed was very uncomfortable, the bed spread was itchy, smelled/looked dirty, and the bathroom had mildew damage on the wall underneath the wall paper that was pealing off. If the jacuzzi suite was this shabby, I could not imagine what the standard room might be like. I made the mistake of not going to see the property myself before I make reservations for our guests. Even with the discount that Comfort Suites gave any guest of ours staying with them, I know that my guests paid to much!

Stayed here in early Feb. during weekday business trip, room was nice and clean, hotel was quiet and presentable. Front desk clerk was groomed, friendly and pleasant, checked me in quickly, even found my frequent user number as I did not have it handy. Being frequent customer got an upgrade to larger room, it was nice to have the extra space. Room had a couch, desk and a short wall separating couch area from bed area. Good shower water pressure. Parking was a little tight up front but there is more at sides and rear. Did not stay for breakfast. Overall a good value. I would recommend this location.

The Comfort Suites Rocklin is relatively high-priced as compared to the Fairfield Inn, Courtyard by Marrott and Hilton Garden Inn off nearby I-80. The Comfort Suites' location is better if one is heading up Highway 65. The staff and common rooms are pleasant. The rooms are comfortable, but the linens are not well-kept. Both of our rooms had multiple holes in the blankets from cigarette burns. Can't think of any excuse for that, other than trying to operate the hotel too cheaply despite the relatively high rates. We'll stay at one of the other hotels next time.
