Made two separate trips here in the past two weeks. Everything is clean and updated. Beds are good, plenty of hot water, breakfast includes protein and fiber dishes. The staff is generally very good.
We had a problem with federal tax exemption. First time we stayed, we were refused the exemption and had to explain to our agency why it was denied. The second time, we were ready to accept the decision we got the first time, but submitted our tax-exempt forms anyway. The second time, there was no hassle and the exemption was granted.
On the second trip, my reservations were not honored and the desk clerk was a little stinker who kept saying that he was working on getting me the room I wanted. He just kept weaseling me and claiming he was "working on it" for hours. Why he didn't say "We double booked your room and I just don't care" is beyond me. Made me madder than a simple honest answer would have.
But, in all, it's a perfectly adequate place and most of the staff is very congenial. I didn't use the WiFi because I brought a cable for the LAN, but that service was excellent. My favorite little quirk is that the iron had a six foot cord on it, and you didn't have to do the usual contortions to touch up your business attire.
We enjoyed Casey's and Charlie's for dinner, both North on China Lake Blvd. Ridgecrest is a very pleasant community.
