“A great place to stay for the price”

I have stayed at this Holiday Inn Express three times while on business trips to the Palo Alto/San FRancisco area. The hotel is conveniently located, a half hour drive to San Jose, fifteen minute drive to Palo Alto and a 45 minute drive (mid day) to San Francisco.

The hotel is very clean, especially the rooms. The rooms are modern and very well maintained. The staff is incredible, always available to help.

The free breakfast is hard to believe. I travel a lot and this is probably one of the best free breakfast stations I have come across. The fresh, hot cinnamon rolls are hard to believe.

When I come to this area it is the only place I will stay.

My husband and I stayed there for 1 night this past week and we were so pleased that we did! Wonderful staff! Very clean room. Very quiet. Really nice breakfast. We couldn't be happier that we chose the Holiday Inn Express!

“Excellent choice”

Stayed here for 4 nights for business. Convenient location on El Camino Real in Redwood City. Just a 15-20 minute drive to Palo Alto/Stanford/Page Mill Road area where I was doing work. Staff was nice enough to let me print some travel itineraries on their printer. Free parking, free internet, free breakfast. Guest laundry (coin-operated) came in handy. Free Otis Spunkmeyer cookies in the lobby were the BOMB! But get them early before their gone. Room itself was perfect - up to date HD flat screen (with HD quality picture and HBO). Bathroom was clean too. Wendy's right next door but the Harry's Hofbrau across the street had mixed reviews from my travel partners. All in all, would definitely return here if I had business in Palo Alto area.

“Great stay”

The room is good sized with a comfortable bed and linens. The staff was very friendly. We needed help because we had two reservations: one for the first night and one for the following two nights. The clerk worked very hard to find us a king bed in a quiet location so we didn't have to move. We really appreciated that.

The breakfast is typical Holiday Inn Express. The coffee was better than I expected. The hot items are so-so. Still, it's included in the price so you can get off on your day with breakfast out of the way.
There is a laundry on each floor which we didn't need but is helpful for those who do need it.
Lights were great. We're big readers. Free wi-fi is also good.

The con is getting there when you are driving north on El Camino Real. This road is busy during the day with no U-turns. The stop light just before the hotel gets you across the street but you still have to go down the street, turn on a residential street and circle back to El Camino Real to make a right so you can pull in. If you are driving south on El Camino Real, watch carefully the first time and you will have no problem.
