Quality Inn, Redding Ca. My Husband an I were on our way home from our vacation and decided to stop in Redding for the night. The room was very nice and the staff seemed very friendly. We checked out of the hotel the morning of Nov.11 which was a thursday. On Friday the 12th I received a call from the managment stating that their house cleaners reported two of their pillows and all of their towels we missing and asked if we had taken them. I was offended by the fact that we were being accused of taking these items. When I asked the asst. manager what they do in a situation like this , she told me that she would just have to take my word that we did not take these items. I will never stay at this establishment again for fear that I again would be accused of stealing.

It was OK, but compared to other Quality Inns this was a little disappointing...especially when we paid $2.50 less for a much nicer Quality Inn the night before. The first one had an indoor pool and spa...this one an outdoor pool and no spa. The first one was definitely newer...this on was older and the rooms did not smell as fresh.

A key thing was the wi-fi didn't work...a fairly common occurence we've found in Quality Inns. The lady at the front desk was kind enough to have us switch rooms, but it made no difference. On the plus side, the lady on duty in the morning did deduct $10 from our charge because of the problem.

As a frequent Choice Hotels customer, I was disappointed at the inadequate service I received at this property. Upon checking into my room at 3 pm, I was surprised to find it had not yet been cleaned. In fact, the outside room door was propped open with the air conditioning going full blast--the temp in Redding was ~100 & all the lights on (not exactly energy efficient or green) . When I reported this to the front desk, the response was lackluster--no apologies, no offer of a room change, and no timeline for when the room would be ready. Only, "We'll try to contact housekeeping about it." Returning an hour and a half later, nothing had changed. I guess they weren't successful in contacting housekeeping or taking control of the situation themselves.

I must say that the Choice Hotels corporate representative was very helpful in canceling my reservation. I will continue to stay at other Choice Hotels properties, just not this one. I also highly recommend the Oxford Suites located at 1967 Hilltop Dr., in Redding. GREAT front desk service and much nicer rooms than the Quality Inn.

Room was clean and comfortable. Check in was friendly. Room had fridge, coffee maker, iron and board, hair drier, etc. Hot breakfast was OK. Good rate for this area of
$65. Overall nothing really to complain about. Pretty typical Quality Inn.
