I have stayed at this property many times from 2005-present on my way between Southern California and Portland/Seattle to visit family, and keep going back ,especially when travelling with a dog, and the timing is convenient. I stay one night at a time, with my husband or by myself and have never felt insecure there. The rooms have been refurnished since we started staying there (I think when the European company Accor bought Motel 6), and we have found them clean (no stains nor dirty carpet), though spare (thin towels, no shampoo) and small, all of which is typical for a Motel 6. The relatively large bathrooms have newer European-style showers. The beds are not luxurious, but we've never had trouble sleeping on them. The grounds have been cleaned up since we first stayed there - someone must go around and clean up dog droppings now, if patrons do not. The staff is friendly and competent. We usually eat dinner across the street at Applebee's, or go across town to Buz's Crab Shack with its fresh seafood from the coast. There are many choices for breakfast nearby, including McDonald's, Denny's, Starbucks, a bagel shop. I often take breakfast to the nearby (same exit as Motel 6 Central-about a mile away) Sundial Bridge to eat, and then walk by the Sacramento River. The walk is especially welcome after a long day behind the wheel. I've never been to the bridge when there were not people enjoying it. All things considered I would rate this a 4 out of 5 for a motel of this price range.

We stayed here as just an overnight stop before going home from our Oregon vacation. The staff was very pleasant. While in line to check in, the lady in front of my was returning her keys, saying she had changed her mind about staying here (should have been my sign). A lot of little things about our room added up to why I won't stay there again. The shower floor should have been replaced months ago, instead of trying to patch up a bad hole, making it worse. The switch plates were dirty. The sheets were very thin, making the mattress visible, as well as the mattress pad, which did not completely cover the mattress. The pillows had a "crunch" to them. The walls are VERY thin, so we could hear the family - and their dog - at night. In the morning we were greeted with dog feces outside next to our door, which never did get picked up while we were there. On the positive side, there is an Applebee's and Chevy's close by.

We stayed one night here on a drive from California to Oregon, partly because they would accept our dog, and there's a PetCo and Chevy's across the street, and the well-reviewed La Conquista on the same block. The staff was nice, swimming pool closed for the winter, room minimal but mostly clean, shower but no bathtub, and the bed was hard but adequate. For $2.99 you can get a scratch off ticket that gives you an access code for 24 hours of WiFi service in select rooms. Agonizingly slow WiFi service, suitable for checking email but not much else. We appreciate the pet friendly aspect, but few guests clean up after their dogs, making the small lawn areas pretty revolting.

I think it's about the best you will get for under 60.00 a night. their are cheaper motels but most of them are old, run down, not kept up, and have people living in them. And if you want a ritzy room those hotels are 100.00+, We seem to stay at this motel 6 every time our family comes to Redding. The most important thing about a hotel are 1. Their really clean and 2. great price, so you can save your money for other things.
This place is clean, clean shower, newer, clean everything not even any built up dust, they'll give you plenty of towels, clean pool great for the kids, & gets lots of sun, Great shopping location on hilltop next to Mall, close to lots of eateries and clothing stores, safeway, ect. The only cons are that it is by a freeway, but with redding it's either gonna be very hot or very cold, and the A/C works great, and blocks out any noise, even without the a/c it would not be enough to keep me up. Also, when any motel is inexpensive, you do run the risk of party people renting them out and being loud, the walls are thin but seems about the same as any other hotel i've been in. I did have party people in the room next to me 1 night and they were up late. I had to get up early so i ended up just calling the office and the guy was Soo nice and sorry for this, he came right up and told them to be quiet or leave, and that took care of that. If you wanna save money and not sacrifice cleanliness, this is a great spot.
