A buddy and I stayed one night in a two queen room. We arrived after 10:30pm with a reservation. We were assigned a third-story room in a wing with internal hallways. The desk person was friendly enough. The room looked like it had recent work done but it was not perfect. There was a thermostat on the wall but the digital display was blank. Well, the heater unit had manual controls, fortunately, but oh, and the unconnected thermostat wiring was poking out from under the heater. On this 36 degree night, the heat did come on and the unit noise was tolerable. In the process of figuring out the heat, I stepped into a wet spot on the carpet next to the heater. Rain water had run down the wall and made its way into the room. There was no smell and again, tolerable. The bathroom and towels/amenities were fine but the shower head would not adjust to a desired setting. Yet again, tolerable. The bedding was adequate and clean. The breakfast had basic selections. It was quite busy at around 8:45am and clean-up was lacking. While customers should have the courtesy to bus their items, the staff should have done a better job keeping the food areas clean. This was my first overnight in Redding and I will be looking at other places on my next stay. I believe there are better values in town.
