“Free buffet breakfast was AMAZING!”

My uncle and I stayed in a ground floor room in January 2012. To my amazement the T.V. was huge! I was also very happy that the mini fridge was plugged in and very cold. They had a heated pool, and heated kids pool. (1 ft. deep) As well as a hot tub. What did me in was the free breakfast buffet. I thought it would be a continental breakfast, but to my surprise it was a buffet. The food was AMAZING! The scrambled eggs were the best I have ever had. Sausages, bacon, toast, bagels, waffles (belgain), oatmeal, cereal, fresh fruit, cottage cheese, yogurt, granola, orange juice, coffe, milk, and much more. I will definitely stay there again.

“Over rated”

We chose this hotel based on good reviews, which turned out to be misleading. This hotel has been renovated and has a nice facade from the street. The rooms, however, are very small and dark. The building is concrete block and there is just one window facing a hallway. We were located under a stairwell, which permitted little outside lighting. The heat in the room was either hot, or cold. No happy medium. There is no closet, just a bar in the very small vanity area. The fridge is the smallest box size available. Our take out box would barely fit. We ate in the C.R Gibbs restaurant for the full buffet breakfast each morning. The food was so-so. There was a selection of cold cereal, yogurt, scrambled eggs, small dry biscuits, gravy and bacon & sausage. Adequate, but not great quality. Do not base your decision to stay here on the 'full breakfast buffet'.
We tried the restaurant in the evening for drinks and the service was very poor. A long wait to get 2 beers and no napkins or coasters provided. We had to get up and find someone to ask for napkins.
We were planning on staying here again in April for the Cool April Nights car show, but cancelled our reservation. The room is just too small for the money, and the parking lot is not as large as some of the other properties along Hill Top Rd. The La Quinta or Holiday Inn parking is better suited if you have a large trailer.

“Great Place to Stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 December 2011

My husband and I only stayed one night at this place, but it was very enjoyable. It is close to many popluar areas and off Interstate 5. Very clean, very nice lobby and restarant. Had the best ever sliders ( for lunch)that I have ever had!! It was very noisy and busy for dinner so we did not go there. HOwever, it was a few days before Christmas, so that may have been a part of it. But, way too busy and noisy. It was like going to a noisy bar. The rooms were very nice and clean. OUr had a micro, but no refrig. It was quiet as well. The total price for one night came out to $124.00, so it was a bit higher than I wanted to pay, but now awful. THe breakfast was wonderful. Full breakfast, oatmeal, cereal, pastries, biscuits/gravy, eggs, potatoes, fruit and yogurt, etc. VEry nice and included with the price. So, if we had gone out we would easily have spent $30.00 for a full breakdfast with juice/coffee and tip. There was a nice fitness room, and a pool. No sauna. but there was a jazuzzi. We did not use either as they were outside and it was pretty cold. There are many, many restaurants close by so that is not an issue. I would stay here again on my own or with a family.

Room Tip: May be ask for one opposite from the main street. However, in the summer, the poolside might be a bi...

“great rooms, wonderful staff, best free breakfast”

We've stayed at the Best Western plus Hilltop Inn twice in the past year. Both times the experience was very good.
The lobby is huge and very inviting. Front desk staff are friendly and snswered all our questions.
Both times we've stayed at this hotel we had rooms on the second floor. Despite Interstate 5 being just across the back parking lot, the rooms were very quiet. We got a room with 2 queen beds that were very clean and comfortable.
The hotel offers a swimming pool and an excellent reataruant, but they also serve a great free breakfast buffett style with all the good hot foods you could want.

Happy traveling!

“Great breakfast”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 October 2011

Easy check-in, but the room we were shown to had a cement wall and considerable noise from air condtioning on the roof just a few feet away. A visit to the front desk provioded us with a better room, but not without some pressure on my part. Rooms were clean but somewhat cramped, but bed was comfprtable. The breakfast was by far the best that we had during our trip, with good quality and choice. All in all, reasonable value for the price.
