“Great Location, Clean rooms, Have had better beds”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 March 2010

The location at Lake Shasta attracted us.
It was off season, the restaurant has limited hours and closed
just prior to our arrival. We were one of two rooms rented, thus it was quiet, if you don't mind the I-5 bridge traffic, which didn't disturb our sleep nearly as much as the bed did. The King room was very clean and minimally furnished, i.e., bed, small table with two chairs, TV and two night tables with clock radio and lamps. It was old (bathroom was completely ceramic tile on floor, walls and shower) but well maintained. The water pressure was great. New windows had been installed, however, need to be triple paned to provide for the highway traffic. We enjoyed the tranquility of the setting and wished for softer beds. Thrilled that the US Forest Service has teamed with Seven Crowns to provide services at such an enjoyable area.

“Very Basic and very old”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 April 2008

Bridge Bay Resort is a lake resort mostly dealing with houseboat rentals and other water sports services. The motel on site is very old, and very basic. I remember this place being there when I was a child staying at another resort at Shasta. A good description of a room here is that it is like a basic one-room lake cabin, but is not a separate building. We had very noisy neighbors above us, but even if they had not been so noisy, we would have heard everything. The setting is beautiful, the people are friendly, and there is a decent restaurant on site. Upgrading this ancient facility may be too much to ask for. Next time, I will try to find a cabin at another resort for a night of go on into redding for a more robust hotel.

  • Liked — Setting at Shasta Lake
  • Disliked — Noisy, poorly maintained, run down
