We were in Rancho Santa Fe for a graduation event and stayed one night. The check in was wonderful, quick and helpful. The grounds are very well maintained and have an old world flavor. Our room was a big disapppointment. A Motel 6 room with some nicer furniture. The batroom vanity was cheap Home Depot. The same with the shower head. No moldings or artwork in the room. And the door to the patio was a cheap aluminium slider. The restaurant was very expensive and in our opinion overpriced. We thought about sitting by the pool and reading but it turned out to be fairly small and crowded with noisy children and adults having a party. So we passed.
While the check-in person was freindly and helpful, the check-out person could care less. None of the usual, "How was your stay?"" or "Thank you and hope to see you again." Quite different from our check-in experience. Perhaps it was just this one person who had no concept of the hospitality business. Overall, a very nice location, nice grounds, spotty service and poor rooms.

My wife and I stayed here during a training event I attended. We loved everything about this resort. It has a very nice romantic charm. The grounds and the rooms are very nice... Our only regret was we could not stay longer!

We held a very special event at the Inn at Rancho Santa Fe this past April 30, 2011, my daughter's wedding day. Not only did the hotel do an excellent job with helping coodinate this amazing day, but the staff in all areas were phenomenal! This is a wonderful historic hotel, located right in the heart of the village of Rancho Santa Fe. It is old California-Spanish style with red tile roofs, gardens and flowers galore, grand lawns, and quiet ambiance. Each room has individual decor and unique charm, such as a patio or fireplace, and of the 15 rooms we had guests in, all guests had only praise and appreciation for the spacious accomodations and beautiful setting. You will find a secret garden around every corner of the meandering walkways! The staff took the time to personally greet you wherever you happened to be and accomodated a variety of individual special requests. The food at the wedding dinner was truly amazing. It was all freshly prepared and served perfectly...no banquet hot boxes here! From the Summer Salad with tiny greens, macadamia nuts, strawberries, mango and papaya with a coconut dressing to the Filet Mignon Beef Medallions with Morel mushrooms and a red wine sauce, and the Northern Halibut Filet with Citrus sauce; the food was devine! Brunch the following morning on the patio at the restaurant was equally delicious.
The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe is a perfect setting for a romantic weekend getaway!
Kudos to Marianna Orgando, director of catering, and to Kelly Creighton, rooms coordinator, at the Inn, along with all of the other staff and servers, that made this a truly perfect stay and event!

Wow! I just had the absolute PLEASURE of staying in this gorgeous and cozy hotel. My company had a 3 day meeting and it was such a treat to have it at the Inn at Rancho Santa Fe. The grounds are just breathtaking and everything about the hotel oozes charm. I was so content in my room with high ceilings, a wood burning fireplace and a huge beautiful bathroom that I seriously did not want to leave. Our meeting was hosted in a cozy room with a fireplace and the food was delicious at every meal. As a vegetarian, I was extremely pleased to find 2 very tasty tofu dishes for dinner.
I can't wait to go back for a relaxing vacation!
