“Great Stay. Great Bed”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 December 2011

We stayed there for several days a couple of weeks ago. We checked out and started our trip home and ended up getting our trip held. We stayed at another hotel for 1 night and RAN back to this one for the second unexpected night. It is close to almost EVERY place we needed to be. The staff was mostly very nice and helpful ( though the occasional person was too involved in Christmas shopping on the internet to give more than a 2 word answer to questions). The only real negative is that the local Pixxa Hut will take your order and charge your credit card and then call you to say that they don't deliver to that area. I have to admit though, when I did finally get to talk to the manager at Pizza Hut, he fixed the problem very quickly.
But back to the hotel. The reason we HURRIED back is because the beds were so very comfortable. We thought so while we were there, but that night in the other hotel really drove the point home. We would stay here again in a heart beat. just don't order the pizza from the Hut.

Room Tip: Really long hallways. If ambulating is a problem, ask for something nearer the desk. Noise never rea...

Dear ScottRu2003 ,

Thank you very much for taking the time to review your stay with us at the Hilton Garden Inn Palm Springs/Rancho Mirage! I like to mention to all guests who graciously take the time to submit a review, that your feedback - both good and bad, is critical to our success and complete guest satisfaction for all present and future guests. So again, "Thank you!".

I am happy that you found our location to be convenient for your needs. I love our location and agree that not only is there plenty to do within walking distance, you can easily drive to many other destinations within the Coachella Valley quite easily.

I am also grateful to hear that most of your staff interaction was pleasant however, I am disappointed to hear that a few individuals spent time surfing the web instead of attending to your needs. That is definitely not the experience I want you or any other guest to ever have and I will definitely address that issue with the staff to remind them that our only job is to welcome and hospitably assist any and every guest at all times.

Thank you again for staying with us. Please come back and visit someday soon!

Sincerely,
Jennifer Barkulis, General Manager

“Good again”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 December 2011

This was our second time at this property. The front desk was excellent. The test of any hotel is how they handle a problem. Our heating unit was not working. It was 64 degrees in the room and getting colder. We were promptly moved to another room, a small suite. It is good to experience a professional approach to hotel management.

“Great Staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 November 2011

I recently stayed at this Hilton and I would have to say that their number 1 strength is their staff. Everyone I came across were very friendly and always said hello. The hotel itself is a bit hard to find due to some of the vegetation outside. There is plenty of parking and the lot was spotless. One block to the east is a place called "The River" and it has many fantastic restaurants and a movie theater. The lobby is large and it's only a two story hotel so the elevators were almost unnecessary. The room was very clean and in great shape. The bed was kind of old and lumpy but the pillows were to die for. The HDTV actually had HD channels! That was a nice surprise. The room has a small refrigerator and a microwave. The only downside to this whole place was the breakfast. It's $12 no matter what you get and I seem to recall there was only 3 items on the menu. For $12, I would walk a block and get a much better breakfast. Get back to the complimentary breakfasts with toast and bagels Hilton.

Room Tip: There is a big exhaust vent above the lobby. If you get a room on the 2nd floor above the lobby you...

Dear "wolfden,"

Thank you very much for your recent review of the Hilton Garden Inn Palm Springs/Rancho Mirage Hotel. I am thrilled that you appear to have truly enjoyed your stay. I am even more pleased with your experience with my staff. As a traveler, you have many choices of places to stay; everyone has beds, carpet, walls, etc...What other properties do not have is the AWESOME staff at this hotel! I believe, as do they, that when you stay with us, YOU are a special guest in our home and should be treated as such at all times.

Regarding your comments about our breakfast:
I would like explain a little further about the Great American Grill Restaurant and the, "All You Can Eat, Cooked-to-Order," breakfast that is available at every Hilton Garden Inn accrossed the country and world. I would also like to apologize that this was not explained to you properly during your stay and hope this will be helpful for any future stays. You are correct that the price is $11.95 per person, however that price includes the "All you can eat," Breakfast Buffet with Fruit, Yogurt, Oatmeal, Danish, Muffins, Assorted Breads and Cereals. Then we encourage and offer in addition, your choice of anything off of our "Cooked-to-Order Menu," to include: Large, fluffy, Belgian Waffles with assorted toppings, Pancakes, Omelets, Eggs cooked any style, French Toast, Assorted Breakfast Meats, Hash Browns and Unlimited Juice, Coffee, Tea and Milk. It truly is an amazing price for all of that. Also, a helpful hint for the future: The HGI Brand does not offer a complimentary breakfast however, if you inquire about the "Bed & Breakfast," package the next time you make a reservation, the price will actually work out to only $4.00 additional per adult for the room rate and you receive the full breakfast with that. It is quite a deal! Lastly, we do offer items available at an "A la carte" price. It is not something that we promote but do have available should you ever be interested.

Again, thank you for your time and feedback and I sincerely hope to have the pleasure of seeing you at our "Home" again very soon!

“Nice place to stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 November 2011

When I think of Palm Springs, I imagine luxurious resorts with well appointed rooms and spas. This place wasn't that, but it was nicer than the average Hilton Garden Inn (IMO) and was definitely a good value for the money. It's located right on the main drag that connects the Palm Springs area towns, so it's very convenient, and there are a number of nice restaurants and a Starbucks within walking distance. Parking and wifi were free, although breakfast was not. The room had a refrigerator and microwave, which was great for leftovers. The furnishings and decor definitely weren't new, but it was clean and well maintained.

Overall, it was a nice place to stay for a weekend and fit our needs perfectly.

Dear "Ubernic,"

Thank you for taking the time to relay your recent experience at my property, the Hilton Garden Inn Palm Springs/Rancho Mirage. I am quite pleased that it appears your stay was enjoyable.

As noted in previous guest reviews, I read and respond to all guest comments, good and bad and utilize all feedback as a training tool and opportunity to truly hear what our guests think and feel about our hotel. Nothing is more important than a guest who takes the time to inform us of the ways we have succeeded and also the areas that may need a bit more attention. So again, thank you.

I hope to have the opportunity to personally welcome you back to our hotel should your travels bring you this way again.

“Very pleasant stay”

We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn for 3 nights on our 2 month long cross country trips just to relax. We have been to Coachella Valley many times before and know the area. Before our stay we stayed at the Garden Inn in Henderson so its nice to compare. Almost same price. Rooms in Rancho Mirage are bigger but reception in Henderson is better (cookies, soft drinks). Breakfast is $ 11.95 plus tax and we don't mind paying for breakfast if its good. And good it was! Very friendly staff esp in Henderson. Free ample parking, flatscreen TV, good size fridge and MW and excellent beds. Pool in Rancho is a lot bigger. Coachella Valley also is nicer for some relaxing days than the Las Vegas area but that's just imo. Parking at the back side of the Rancho Mirage hotel is very dark. We just enjoyed our stay at both places and don't mind to come back.

Dear Tet14,

Thank you very much for taking the time to share your recent experience with the Hilton Garden Inn Palm Springs/Rancho Mirage. I sincerely appreciate your feedback and am glad to hear that your stay was enjoyable.

I am also quite familiar with the HGI in Henderson, NV - as that is the community I recently moved from to join the Palm Springs/Rancho Mirage HGI earlier this year. It is a lovely property so you indeed picked two great hotels for your stays!

Regarding your observation of the lighting in the back parking lot area; safety and security is of utmost importance to me and we will definitely continue to review the lighting for appropriate levels and any needed lightbulb replacements.

Thank you for bringing that to our attention.

Again, thank you for choosing to stay with us on your trip through the Coachella Valley and we hope to see you again very soon.
