The only thing good about this hotel is the fact that it is close to "Restaurant Row" in Rancho Mirage. Otherwise, it is not a "suite" experience at all. In fact, there is not even a door to the adjoining room! The exercise machines were not working (OK, 1 of the 4 was -- the treadmill, but it was old). The pool towels were small -- the type I use for rags at home. The refrigerator buzzed all night. The staff was not very helpful -- they are overworked. The "bed" -- if you can call it that consisted of no foam and only springs in the sleeper couch. The pool was the same size as you'd have in your own backyard if you had a pool at home. Not a hotel pool. The room were were in had no coffee table, and when I asked for one, I was made to feel that I was putting out the staff, and making an extraordinary request. Oneo fo the 2 ice machines was broken. The "waffle" breakfast consisted of frozen waffles and pancakes and pre-packaged bagels and danish (nothing fresh). No ambiance at all. I would not stay here again. Stay here only if you like the location, which, I must say, IS fabulous for Rancho Mirage. That was its only saving grace for us.

Its not horrible. The staff was actually very helpful and friendly. The rooms were decent size and clean. After all, this is not a 5 star. We had a problem with noise. Sounded like a car was blasting bass outside and we couldnt sleep. After calling the front desk, we were told that he would be up after checking people in. Only one person working!!?? We were given a room with 2 queen beds. We moved to the other bed and the noise was gone. I found out later that is was actually the noise of the ice machine or vending machine downstairs... Nice location, right next to the really nice mall The River. And Applebees (although the hotel inhouse book didnt have the number listed) is basically connected. So its a basic, clean room, with decent staff.

I booked the room sight unseen at the country inn website. The line at check in was four deep and very slow (30 minutes). Upon arrival, I was horrified by the small dank rooms complete with musty odors. I immediatly went back to the front to ask for a refund. They insisted that I see if another room would be satisfactory. They showed me a larger "suite". It was all of another 2 feet wider than my first room.
I said that it wasn't going to work for me, and I would appreciate a refund so I could find accommodations that would. They refused to refund or make other arrangements. I ended up going to Marriott's Shadow Ridge for the night.
