On our recent visit to Ontario, California my husband and I had an opportunity to stay at the Aloft. I had heard nice things about the hotel, and some interesting facts about their rooms. I wanted to keep an open mind about the atmosphere of the hotel and the layout of the rooms so I could experience for myself what it was all about. After all, first impressions are lasting impressions.
Well, when we arrived at the airport we called to have the shuttle pick us up, and were told we'd have to get a cab due to their shuttles not having airport access at the time. ? Ok...so we got a taxi and the hotel took care of the fare. Upon entering the hotel, I was overwhelmed by the music and how loud it was. I thought if I were 10-15 years younger, this would be an awesome hotel to stay at! The party atmosphere is unlike any hotel I have ever visited. After checking in and getting to our room, I was glad it was very clean and modern looking. So modern, in fact, I walked right by the "closet" and didn't realize it. The curtain concealed the cubbyhole containing the three hangers for my husband and I on which to hang our 10-days worth of clothes. And the lack of dressers also added to the modern feel of the room.

The numerous staff members that we encountered were all very kind and helpful.

All-in-all, it is not a bad place to stay if you are traveling alone, or want to enjoy a dance- party environment. You won't find it to be a "warm and welcoming" kind of place where you can find a quiet place to read and relax. It just isn't my cup of tea.

The Aloft hosted a New Year's Eve event to bring in 2012, and it was the best night ever! They had a variety of new age music, a diverse crowd, great drinks and prices. The atmosphere was cozy yet full of energy and the price to get in was the best in town. But, to top if off, they have excellent employees! One in particular, Cianna Fige, she greeted us with a brilliant first impression and made sure we were enjoying our night the entire evening. She even escorted us to the elevator upon departing. I felt very welcome and cannot wait to return! Thank you Cianna and to Hotel Aloft for raising the bar on service and entertainment!

I booked a room for 3 nights and only stayed for 2 nights. At 1am, we checked out carrying our sleeping children while pulling on our luggage. I mind that there are hotel parties but it shouldn't bother the other hotel guests. Most hotels have a designated area where parties are held! Most hotels do NOT throw parties in the middle of the hotel lobby! This hotel does!!! I felt like I was walking into a club with my children as we were making our way through the crowd to the elevators. The guests at the party were hanging out in front of the hotel in the drop off/valet area and there were guests in the back of the hotel just hanging out. I know this for a fact because we had to drive around the hotel 3 times to try to find a parking spot. As a paying customer, we shouldn't have to "go under the bridge, on the other side" to find parking, that's what the guy a the counter told me. The guests at the party should have been the ones to park "on the other side." I was pretty sure not all of them were staying there at that hotel! When we finally made it to our room, the music was so loud that the walls of our room (on the 3rd fl) was shaking!! There was no way we could sleep through it. I felt like the party was right next door. Instead of complaining about the music AGAIN (cause I called and complained the night before), we just checked out! So if you are planning to sleep or if you have children, I'd make sure they are not having a party before booking there!

I had never heard of Aloft before so I was pleased after reading the reviews on Tripadvisor. My boyfriend and I stayed here from Dec 28-Dec 31, 2011. I flew in late from Ontario airport so I was happy that the hotel was just a few miles down the road. I was starving when I got in and didn’t want to drive around looking for something to eat so my boyfriend bought 2 salads from the hotel lobby. When we got upstairs, we realized that the salads were old and the lettuce was rusty. Needless to say, I went to bed hungry because I was just too sleepy to worry about it at that moment and the lobby really did not have a good selection of food (to my liking). The front desk did refund my boyfriend in the morning. The plastic cups left in the room were dirty, so we couldn’t use those. Other than that the room and linens were clean. The window shades allow bright rays of sunshine in your room to wake you up early every morning. When we tried to order movies and couldn’t, we called the front desk and they sent a guy up who banged the remote in his hand a few times, fussed over the plugs to the TV, then diagnosed that it must be the remote. While we watched him in utter confusion at his “troubleshooting” skills, we had the best laugh of the trip and still joke about this maintenance man today. While we were trying to contain our laughter, he went to get a different remote that still did not fix the problem. So he told us that he would ask the manager about another room and we declined since it was our last night and it would be more of a hassle than anything. During check-out the next day, my suspicions that we were sent a gardener were confirmed when we saw the same “maintenance man” tending to the hotel landscape. We had another good laugh as we waved goodbye to him, and the hotel. All that being said, we would stay here again even if only for the comedy!
