The only good aspect of this hotel was that it was very cheap (about $40 total through Priceline). However, after staying here, I would not have found that the low price was not worth the very low quality.
The first room they assigned to me had not even been cleaned by housekeeping staff. I opened the door to find the lights on, the beds unmade, and used drinking cups sitting around. I had to go back to the front desk to ask for a different room.
After receiving a short and insincere apology about their mistake, I received a key for another room. However, the key did not work on the door, so I had to return to the front desk for a second time.
When I finally received a key that worked, I found that the second room was apparently "cleaned" by staff, but it was still very dirty. The toilet seat had wet streaks of pink cleaner on it, with pieces of thick dark hair sticking here and there. There were soap bar deposits on the shelf in the shower, making me think that virtually no effort at all was put into cleaning the place. The entire room also had a very strong mildew smell, which made me sick to my stomach. The beds had a regular sheet and covering, but the mattresses themselves were covered only with single sheet -- there were no mattress covers. So that means the only thing separating you and the very mattress that many others have slept on was a single thin and dingy sheet.
There was also a strange knocking sound coming from within the walls that continued all night, making it difficult to sleep. I couldn't tell if it was the plumbing, or something else.
Because of the filth and smell, all I wanted to do was spend as little time within the room as possible. I was not expecting a whole lot from a 1-star hotel, but cleanliness should not be compromised no matter what type of hotel you run. No one could pay me enough to stay here again, and I would never recommend this hotel to anybody else.
