We visited the Sacramento area from August 12 - 16th. I was not expecting much from this hotel because of the the reviews on tripadvisor. We were so pleased with our stay! ALL of the staff (front desk staff, housekeeping, maintenance, breakfast area staff, etc...) was friendly, helpful, accommodating and pleasant to deal with. We had to change our reservation a few times to add extra rooms and nights and the manager was great about giving us the same low rate for all of our additions.
Because this hotel is located in a business park, they cater mostly to business people during the weekdays. The hotel was so quiet on the weekend that it felt like we had our own personal hotel! The complimentary breakfast was great as well. Each day had a different feature item (French toast sticks, bacon and eggs, biscuits and gravy) and every day the main items such as the waffle maker, cereal, and pastries were fresh and abundant.
Many people's comments were about the difficulty to find the hotel. We called the hotel and got directions from the front desk and had no problem finding it. We definitely will stay here on our next trip to Sacramento.
I do not review hotels on tripadvisor very often. I only share my opinion if we had a really bad experience or a really good one. This was definitely a really good stay.

Stayed from 24 to 26 June 2010. It is tough to find because there is no obvious sign and the front of the hotel cannot be seen from the roa. Good landmark is Hyatt Place--their driveway is directly across the street from Hampton Inn's driveway. Hampton Inn shares a driveway with the Fairfield Inn which has a small sign near the driveway.

When I checked on 24 June at 3pm, there were 2 female employees. Was warmly greeted, and one of them went to my room on the second floor to make sure it was ready. She called back to the desk to let us know it was ready. Everytime I left or entered the lobby, I was greeted. Ask for directions to the nearest supermarket, and the directions were perfect. Only got one name--Corynne M. Their level of customer service was very high much more than I expected from this chain and definitely more than I have received from any other hotel experience over the past few years.

My room was on the 2nd floor at the end. Its window faced an on ramp and a major freeway, yet, I heard no traffic noise. The room was normal size, but for some reason, it felt cramped. The batroom was unusally large in comparison to the rest of the room--especially the extra wide bathroom door.

Bed was comfortable, linens were fine. Wide variety of TV channels, free WiFi was strong and stable. Front desk did a good job of providing username and password during check in process.

Breakfast area was always packed. Only helped myself to juice because did not feel like dealing with all the families. One morning, there were brown paper bags of an "express breakfast"--muffin, small bottle of water, apple, granola bar, and mints--that was a good option.

Much of the surrounding area is newly renovated with a variety of casual and fast food restaurants. A US Air Force Base closed down almost 20 years ago, so the local government has been busy trying to attract new business and development to the area--so far, so good. Would definitely stay here again.

I stayed at this Hampton Inn for a week while on business. Since my office was in the adjoining office park, this hotel was very convenient. As one reviewer mentioned, it's a little difficult to find if you are coming from the office park as the driveway is shared with a competitor and the Hampton sign is not visible unless you are coming off the freeway from Sacramento. If you are coming off the freeway from the east and exit the freeway on Zinfandel, you will have to go around the block as there is no left turn onto the hotel's street from from Zinfandel. Even with freeway proximity, there was no noise. Minimal hallway noise, so sleep was not a problem. Breakfast was more extensive than I remembered for Hampton. Make your own waffles, an egg dish, a breakfast meat, and breakfast potatoes, as well as muffins, bagels, rolls, toast, cereals, fruit, coffee, juices, and yogurt. Attendant was constantly monitoring supply and replenishing so nothing ran out. Friendly staff, and as a bonus - warm cookies in the afternoon. Room was spacious, bed comfortable, bathroom large, clean and had nice amenities. In room coffee, free wi-fi, TV with the major channels plus some standard cable channels. Plenty of restaurant choices within a few miles. Easy routing to the airport. As Hamptons go, this one's top notch.

The ONLY reason we stayed at this hotel was because of the indoor pool & spa. Bothy were freezing cold!!! Management said that senior manager said to change water over the weekend, because their busy days are Monday, Tues, Wed.

Don't go here on weekends!

This used to be a nice hotel until Hilton took it over.
